What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and manage a team of ER Specialists ensuring accurate, timely and appropriate ER advice is given to senior stakeholders on complex cases
- Senior and ExCo stakeholder management, responding to senior escalations, engaging with senior stakeholders to manage expectations, provide feedback and handle escalated matters sensitively
- Acting as an escalation point to ensure cases are managed appropriately and updates are communicated as necessary to senior stakeholders
- Being a point of contact for ExCo and the CPO for escalated cases
- Monitoring service and advice using the case management tool, ensuring cases are resolved within a timely fashion
- Review and provision of monthly ER Specialist data
- Analysis of monthly ER Specialist data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and improvement areas
- Contribution to ER related comms and updates as required
- Review and approval of use of legal support via agreed legal panel
- Ensuring lessons learned reviews take place, and associated improvement actions are implemented
- Ongoing CPD and development of ER Specialist team
- Ensure best practice requirements and commercial imperatives are balanced so that ER risk is minimised
- Work collaboratively as member of the ER Hub function to deliver high quality service to customers: regular communication and information exchange required.
- Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.
- Build relationships with the wider HR team and highlight significant trends in their business areas.
- Participation in key HR ER related projects as appropriate.
- In partnership with P&D, and Knowledge Management Lead, develop ER training programmes and lessons learned sessions, to upskill HR partners and managers on employment legislation, HR policies and process.
What we’re looking for:Proven understanding and application of UK Employment law and ER in a fast paced, commercial environment
- Effective communication and influencing skills at a senior level - able to frame communication in a way that others will respond to, without having the authority to tell people what to do
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal customers
- Well organised, with ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail
- Resilience - maintains effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure. Remains calm, stable and in control of themselves
- Extensive employee relations experience including dealing with complex cases up to and including ET
- Experience of providing advice on employment relations issues to a range of stakeholders especially senior
- CIPD qualified desirable, or equivalent experience
