Our team is looking for a senior business development lead to help own and drive the Public Sector go-to-market strategy for AWS IoT (https://aws.amazon.com/iot/) in EMEA. IoT has become a priority for our customers across almost every industry. Ultimately, IoT is about solving business problems – either to increase revenue by using the data to create new digital services, or to increase efficiency by using the data to streamline operations and removing costs from operations. Customers are focused on solving business challenges, not simply connecting devices, so they look to AWS to provide solutions to those problems. This leads us to ask the question: “If you knew the state of every “thing” and could reason on top of the data: What problems would you solve?

As a member of the EMEA IoT Team at AWS, you will be a key part of answering that question. Customers are looking for references and blueprints to implement solutions which can be complex and require more expertise than AWS provides alone. Partners are critical to providing these solutions to customers. Hardware partners (silicon, OEM), connectivity providers (mobile operators), implementation partners (SIs) and technology partners (ISVs) are always a part of a solution.

As a Business Development Manager for Public Sector, your responsibilities will focus on finding new markets for our IoT services, working with early adopting customers, engaging with our partner ecosystem, working to build repeatable solutions for our sales team to use to delight customers and to planning for future services and solutions. In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
· Build a strategic business development plan for Public Sector in EMEA, and ensure it is well aligned across AWS. Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams etc)
· Coordinate the incubation and launch of new services in EMEA. Be a part of the core team that works with the initial customers to ensure we have strong references at launch. Drive a plan to ensure sales and partner readiness. Understand the technical requirements of our customers, and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.
· Work with lighthouse customers and partners. Build a strong pipeline of customers who are working in key areas of the market or building new and interesting solutions. Work with these customers to become "lighthouse wins" of success.
· Strategic business development - Focus on complex deals and develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key markets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of cloud, technical or digital business development experience
· Strong presentation, sales, and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at the C level.
· Excellent written communication skills
· Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results
· Ability to prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team
· Experience in working with customers in Public Sector, including negotiations, opportunity management and relationship building.
· Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals
· Attention to detail: ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering your quality bar
· Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
· Proven ability to prospect, recruit, and manage executive level relationships
· Excellent business judgement and the demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of cloud, technical or digital business development experience ideally in Public Sector
· Strong presentation, sales, and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at the C level.
· Excellent written communication skills
· Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results
· Ability to prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team
· Deep Experience in working with customers in Public Sector in APJ – including negotiations, opportunity management and relationship building.
· Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals
· Sttention to detail: ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering your quality bar
· Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
· Proven ability to prospect, recruit, and manage executive level relationships
· Excellent business judgement and the demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
