Job Description

Global Real Estate and Facilities’ (GREF) mission is to provide a safe, sustainable and efficient work environment to accommodate growth and enable Amazon employees to innovate and delight customers. GREF owns worldwide programs and services, supporting ~300k corporate employees in ~369 corporate buildings covering ~35MM square feet.
The GREF’s Global Project Management Office (PMO) drives and supports consistency and scalability for delivery of GREF projects, processes, and documentation across all regions. The PMO Project Managers deliver projects of various scale and complexity that transform GREF and help constantly raise the bar for customers. The PMO delivers tools and methodologies that help GREF team members self-managed projects and builds visibility over all initiatives taking place globally.

As the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) GREF PMO Lead you will take oversight project delivery within the region and work closely with the Global PMO Lead & team on developments with global impact. You will build strong governance mechanisms over project prioritization, timely delivery and outcome delivery. Working closely with service line leaders within the region, you will help them strategize on transformational direction for their organizations and identify opportunities for EMEA PMO to accelerate delivery by translating strategic objectives into feasible action plans. As part of Global PMO, you will collaborate in setting global project priorities and lead global projects when agreed. To be successful in the role, you will need to present excellent program & project management capabilities, combined with thorough understanding of the office workplace environment and corporate real estate, boosted by quick learning and agility.

Scope of role and responsibilities
· Perform project management and oversight over global complex cross-functional initiatives, from scope to launch, and successful handoff with GREF teams, internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.
· Provide leadership to the EMEA PMO team by being actively involved in all major projects as well as setting goals.
· Support project sponsors & other stakeholders in defining & writing business requirements, which may include collaborating with GREF Technology team to determine the technology aspects of manage projects.
· Manage prioritization of incoming projects and drive strong governance over project delivery within the region, mitigate risks to timely & consistent project delivery.
· Assemble project teams with support of project sponsor, define mechanisms of team collaboration and schedule appropriate interaction.
· Identify resources needed for projects to succeed and work with the relevant stakeholders to assign those when and as needed.
· Assign projects to project managers with appropriate experience while ensuring learning & personal growth across the EMEA PMO team.
· Drive consistent and accurate communication of project status to stakeholders across the team delivery.
· Maintain/monitor staffing levels, raising the bar with each hire and motivating staff to fulfill organizational goals.
· Identify areas of improvement; develop and implement global solutions to address areas of opportunity.
· Ensure all team members are aligned with the most important opportunities, help PMO team to prioritize as needs shift.
· Contribute to continuous global improvement and innovation and execute continuous improvement within the regional delivery.
· Achieve consistency and quality through robust, scalable and detailed global documentation, mechanisms, procedures and playbooks, and project deliveries while integrating the diversity of all GREF regions.
· Build strong partnership with leadership, regional service line leads and program managers to supply strategic support for key organizational developments.
· Manage escalations and urgent development needs requiring immediate action and problem solving.
· Act as a thought leader on project management within the EMEA GREF structure, contributing to organizational awareness on project management best practice.
· Strategize with project sponsors, challenge outcomes and propose deliverables to ensure fit for purpose and scalable solutions.
· Identify lessons learnt from projects and ensure these contribute the growth of the PMO organization.
· Contribute to the development of the GREF project management methodology.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in managing local and global projects, preferably in real estate and facilities projects and operations.
· Experience in leading large project team or Project Management Office organizations.
· Independent and entrepreneurial style showing the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
· Ability to start from scratch and build teams, processes and solutions in a fast-paced environment and with minimal input and guidance from stakeholders
· Ability to handle multiple developments and projects at the same time.
· Relentless and tenacious drive to deliver results and achieve expected outcomes.
· Proven track record of project prioritization, managing and executing large projects from start to finish.
· Advanced problem-solving and data analysis capabilities.
· People management track record (at least 5 years) including hiring top talent & personal development as well as working with partners and contractors within one team.
· Ability to effectively manage cross functional projects, dependencies and bottlenecks, provide escalations management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business need versus other constraints and maximize business benefit while building great customer experience.
· Comfortable with working across multiple geographies and cultures, virtually, across several time zones, in a highly dynamic organization.
· Strong communication skills which include ability to moderate large forums and drive groups of senior stakeholders towards alignment, building consensus within constrains and conflicting priorities. Ability to write in narrative format.
· Proven track record interacting with multiple stakeholders at all levels of an organization, establishing effective relationships.
· Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
· Strong organizational skills and capacity to prioritize and escalate in a complex, fast paced environment.
· Identify and resolve problems at a highly strategic level
· Strong analytical capabilities, combining ability to dive deep into data and anecdotal feedback, analyze status quo and synthesize findings.
· Project management certification highly preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience of working in a global, multi-aspect organization and across multiple cultures.
· Understand financial needs and impacts.Experience in driving change management plans aimed at setting up new services or profoundly transforming existing ones.
· Tech-savvy with good understanding of technologies, ability to adopt new tools and supply guidance of improvement of existing ones.
