DIVISION OVERVIEW
Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts.
PLANT OVERVIEW
The Winchester plant is conveniently located a short distance from I-81. The address is 1461 Martinsburg Pike, Winchester, VA 22603.
Work weeks consist of a 2 x 2 x 3 continuous operation schedule.
Shift: 12 hour work days. This position will train on day shift, and then will primarily be on the night shift (6PM- 6AM). After training, there will be a need to work occasional day shifts as needed.
Hours per week: Alternating 36 hours one week, 48 the following week.
JOB OVERVIEW
As an active member of the production team on the plant floor, the Electrician is responsible production line programing, trouble shooting, repairing, maintaining and installation of electrical/electronic systems on our packaging machinery in the most efficient way possible.
Starting pay for the Electrician position is $31.20 per hour with contractual increases as scheduled. Each 6 months, the pay rate goes up $0.39, with a top rate of $35.15 before annual increases.

JOB DUTIES
The Electrician duties include:
• Troubleshoots equipment stoppages and reacts accordingly
• Participates in routine preventative/predictable maintenance and performs routine checks
• Assists manufacturing during product change-overs
• Utilizes various mechanical and electrical test equipment
• Monitors and reacts in a timely manner to routine demand maintenance requirements
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Associates degree in a technology/industrial/ manufacturing preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years practical hands on experience in an industrial setting
• Knowledge on Allen Bradley PLC's, Vision and other complex automation systems. Robotics is a plus.
• Experience with high pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated material handling utilizing 480vac VFD's and PLC control logic troubleshooting
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Able to read, interpret blueprints on manufacturing equipment. Interpret manuals and industrial standards. (Electrical Code and OSHA regulations)
• Light machining and welding skills. Light fabrication skills.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug test and background check.
Tools and Equipment:
• Electricians must be able to use electrical testing equipment such as multi-meters and mega ohm meters for electrical testing of energized equipment. Be able to handle hand and power tools that are associated with the job that include screwdrivers drills, power saws, drill presses, wire strippers, pipe benders, and pipe threading equipment.
• Electricians must also be able to use different types of equipment such as scissors lifts, forklifts, and boom lifts when available or necessary.
Testing and working with voltages:
•Electricians will be testing circuits and voltages that vary from 10 volt systems to 480 volt systems. In doing so they must abide by safety protocols and proper PPE for the required voltages. Electricians will be testing program controllers, variable frequency drives, and motors for proper functionality.
•Electricians must be able to log and maintain testing records of equipment in order to meet Crown and Safe Quality Food standards.
Working with schematics and codes:
•Electricians must be able to read through blue print and schematics efficiently to help trouble shoot equipment
•Must be able to read ladder logic and be able to decipher problems that are associated with program logic controllers
•Electricians must follow guidelines that are set by the National Electric Code, manufacturer guidelines, and building codes
Installations:
â—¾Installing electrical systems such as motor controllers, electrical panels, lighting systems and power supplies
â—¾Installing power supplying wiring and conduits that include liquid tight flexible metal conduits and IMC ridged pipe
Working Conditions:
• Generally works in a plant environment
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
• The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
• The noise level is frequently loud
Physical Requirements:
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
•Must be able to climb ladders up to 10+ feet at a time
•Must be able to perform overhead work regularly
•Must be able to work around rotating and moving parts such as drive shafts, belts, and moving line equipment
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
