Advanced Systems Group (ASG) is a newly formed stand-alone division of Brunswick, the world’s largest recreational marine business.  We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineering Lead to join our team in Snohomish, WA.

As our Electrical Test Engineering Lead you will work in our test engineering group for our RELiON brand to validate battery system compatibility and BMS capabilities for next generation consumer electronics. This position reports to Director of Engineering and will lead the group from a technical and project management point of view. You will work with cross-functional teams to understand end user application requirements, lead & plan test execution, and provide/document results. While this position has a leadership aspect, would also be working side by side with the team. You will push the industry boundaries of what batteries can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world along with the opportunity to join this amazing team of professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership to the technical team including administration and coordination of day-to-day department activities
  • Software/Firmware development and maintenance
  • Lead & coordinate compliance testing  
  • Project Management internal & external
  • Research, formulate and communicate product specifications
  • Design & analyze all aspects of batteries and battery applications to ensure proper battery operation
  • Develop hardware and test harnesses to run specialized tests
  • Work with OEMs /Customers to optimize battery designs and/or battery modifications
  • Lead the technical team to assign tasks and design test plans
  • Design & test battery systems (Chargers, DC-DC converters, inverters, and charge controllers)
  • Support successful launch of new products and new OEM accounts.
  • Qualify/test firmware
  • Develop and support production electrical tests and test equipment and protocols to provide a traceable verification.
  • Develop hardware and software for specialized tests to duplicate field conditions.
  • Develop automated test equipment and fixtures for board-level testing and for final-assembly testing.
  • Provide support documentation to that outline test procedures, test measurements, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Troubleshoot and identify design weaknesses in electronic circuitry hardware and communication protocols 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS degree – Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • In depth experience in electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, data-loggers, power supplies, analyzers etc.)
  • Some leadership and project management experience
  • Experience in test automation using PLC, Visual Studio
  • Working experience with chargers, DC-DC converters, inverters, and charge controllers highly valued
  • 3+ years in related field battery industry or battery-based systems preferred
  • Experience in communication protocols preferably CAN
  • Knowledge of electronics hardware designs
  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and work ethic.
