We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Electrical Engineer to ensure the implementation of electrical design and compliance is met in line with current legislation. Objective is to work in a multi discipline team contributing to the overall goal of the department. To work efficiently to meet all deadlines within a timely manner and thrive to provide a first-class service.
What you will be doing:
Working within a multi-disciplinary technical team and support the team in ensuring the first-class delivery of Electrical Engineering. Services may include but not limited to Electrical design, defect diagnosis reports, full specification of works/schedule of works, feasibility studies, condition surveys, budget costs, Contract Administration and Principal Designer
Defect analysis/design and specification and contract administration
Assisting in service delivery to a wide range of clients in designing solutions in the private, education and local authority sectors.
Carrying out design works and feasibility studies for a variety of schemes
Producing CAD Drawings for design work and planning applications
Working on project documents and update accordingly.
Acting in capacity of contract management undertaking regular site inspections and reports
Assisting in managing construction works that are being delivered by the team
Developing detailed reports, specifications and briefs.
Reviewing planned maintenance documentation and implement recommendations
Working independently on projects and ensure works are delivered on schedule and to budget
Managing meetings and including taking minutes and preparing information packs and agenda
Assist in dealing with all Members’ Enquires relating to the service
To liaise with the client and other team members to ensure deliverables are met and value for money is provided.
Assisting in managing and monitoring that client objectives and KPI’s are achieved and maintained
Building positive relationships with all stakeholders including elected Members, Third Sector organisations, public sector partners, tenants, developers, other landowners and client departments.
Undertaking accompanied and unaccompanied site visits (including construction sites) and buildings.
Ensuring that all duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with the Council’s and Capita’s Policies and Procedures including Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Personnel Policies and Procedures etc.

Keeping up to date in developments and best practice in Electrical Engineering and construction, management and leadership and public sector policy.
What we’re looking for:
HND or a Degree in Electrical Services or equivalent
Previous Electrical Engineering experience in the UK.
Must demonstrate either to be working towards being a member or is member of CIBSE
Must demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and work as part as a team
Ability to prioritise workload and meet constraint deadlines
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships both within the organisation and with external bodies
Must have good working knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Must have experience in using drawings and specification tools such as NBS and AutoCAD
Must have experience in inspections and writing progress reports, defect diagnosis reports and condition reports, which are clear and concise
Must have experience in drafting design and specification of works/schedule of works and undertaking contract administration duties
