We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Building Services Engineer in either the NE/NW of England or Southern Scotland. The successful candidates will join long established multi-disciplinary teams and work alongside other engineers, surveyors and more senior professionals.
The workload will be varied and will cover both public & private sectors. Our strong pipeline of work is based upon repeat basis combined with new wins, with our strength being the support of our Health, Education & Local Government clients.
What you will be doing:
Lead & develop detailed briefs in conjunction with the client and senior colleagues
Establish & maintain client relationships
Carry out site surveys (including compliance, condition & defect analysis)
Prepare reports (including remedial works, life cycle & cost data)
Review and comment on ‘As Built’ data
Carry out design and specification work and preparing tender information
Administering building contracts (JCT &/or NEC)
Undertake all aspects of professional surveying work (including Condition Surveys, Specific Defect Analysis, PW work, dilapidations, Access Audits & FRA’s)
Liaise with Clients, Contractors & other consultants (internal and external)
Assist senior team members with project finances, recruitment, and mentoring.

What we’re looking for:
Degree in Building Services, HND/HNC or equivalent
MIET, ACIBSE or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ post qualification experience of advising on commercial properties either in public or private sector
Ability to establish a good working relationship with Clients and colleagues
Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
Good AutoCAD and/or REVIT skills
Working knowledge of design tools such as Amtec, Relux or similar
Excellent understanding of current regulations, CIBSE guides and their implication for design/maintenance of buildings
Good written & verbal communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to demonstrate flexible approach to work and willingness to travel/stay away from home for short periods as may be required
