Job Accountabilities
The Electrical engineer position is responsible for the electrical support for the North American CAPP Division manufacturing facilities and Engineering group. The electrical engineer will focus on preventative initiatives, electrical support for capital investment projects, and troubleshooting assistance for all facilities within the division. The core competencies desired but not required for this includes:
Electrical & Automation/Controls Engineering:
- Electrical & Power Systems
- Discrete sequencing (PLCs/HMIs/VFDs): Rockwell Automation PlantPAx, PLC 5, 500 and ControlLogix 5000 controllers, CompactLogix and microLogix controllers, Allen Bradley HMIs (PanelView, PanelView Plus), Powerflex VFDs,
- Networks, Input/output Communications: Analog 4-20mA, Discrete I/O, Ethernet I/O
- Safety Systems: Control system reliability (CAT 3 /4 architecture, Performance levels, safety integrity level SIL2/3), Safety devices and controllers, Risk analysis, Arc flash compliance.
- Software: AutoCAD, RsLogix (5/500/5000), Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, RsLinx
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Assist plant personnel, read, understand and follow through on electrical schematics to facilitate troubleshooting and minimize line downtime, increase line availability. Working with electricians through breakdown analysis and formal problem solving is essential.
- Electrical preventative maintenance initiatives and programs.
- Provide and coordinate appropriate training for plant electrical personnel.
- Standards:
- Familiarity with NFPA, OSHA and other relevant standards recognized and accepted in the industry.
- Project Management
- Must be willing and able to lead and assist with new equipment installation projects throughout their lifecycle from Initiation, to Planning, to Execution to Closing, while monitoring and controlling all key knowledge areas of the project towards on time delivery and within budget. Mentor and coach technical staff and engineers.
Job Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing/process environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and thorough skills sets in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and good record keeping skills.
- Travel 25% - 40%
