Responsibilities

As a member of Microsoft’s Surface Motherboard DVE Team you will be responsible for making sure we release high level quality products. Activities include development and execution test plans and procedures. Perform functional, stress, system, and other types of testing. Find complex bugs, root cause, and resolve bugs. Identification of test tool requirements, and participation in specification and design reviews. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review design materials including specification/schematic/layout
  • Develop, review, update and execute test plans for complex feature areas or products
  • Sequence and prioritize tests and ensure that there is adequate time for test coverage, trade-off decisions, and the timely completion of the tests
  • Generates comprehensive test reports to communicate test results.
  • Meet test milestones detailed in the project schedules. Identify and escalate schedule risks and offer solutions to stay on schedule.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to determine how power related issues can affect the customers’ product experience.
  • Perform root cause analysis on failures, identify and escalate product risks/customer impact, influence product design changes to meet the product requirements.

Qualifications

  • Have a BS or MS in Electronic or Computer engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong electrical engineering knowledge & fundamentals.
  • Strong hands-on experience in the development of high-volume consumer electronic products is desired.
  • Demonstrates managing through ambiguity, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required.
  • Experience testing waveforms/protocols in at least three of the following domains:
    • Clock
    • Crystal
    • Power Sequencing
    • PCIe (Gen1, Gen2, Gen3)
    • 0 & 3.0/3.1 & 4 + USB-C
    • PD 2.0/3.0
    • DisplayPort / embedded Display Port
    • HDMI
    • LPDDR3/4/5 Memory
    • PCB Impedance
    • MIPI
    • SPI
    • I2C/SMBUS
