The purpose of this role is to provide a technical resource to coach and assist the operations team optimize and improve EH&S, throughput, product quality, reliability of supply and cost performance. Enables the asset to meet EHS&S, productivity and quality goals as the expert on the daily operations of the asset of responsibility.
Corteva Agriscience has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Electrical Distribution and Maintenance (EDM) Group Leader for the Infrastructure Services group located in Midland, Michigan.
This role is suited for someone with strong leadership skills and an engineering background who is well organized and a strong communicator. This unique position includes the opportunity to gain people leader experience through direct Leadership of 10 employees. The EDM Group Leader works closely with the team of Electricians and EDM Support Staff in a strong team environment while supporting Midland I-Park power distribution to ensure continuous, reliable service.
The EDM Group Leader has shared responsibility and accountability for the EDM assets, personnel and achievement of the group-related business goals. The role delivers plant-based business and administrative leadership to an empowered, work process driven, plant organization. The EDM Leader role is used to support meaningful opportunities for leader/employee engagement. The primary function for this role is performance management and personnel development, though there is also a strong component of technical competence that is required to help ensure reliable and continuous performance. This person would be expected to supervise 10 people and would be accountable for performance management, coaching and career development. Additionally, the role acts as a technical resource for EDM personnel, applying technical skills to optimize equipment operations and enabling safe and efficient production of reliable, low cost, and quality service in a safe environmentally-friendly manner. This role also serves as a coach and mentor for individuals and teams within the Infrastructure Services organization.
Responsibilities

Performs first line leadership of EDM personnel including Performance Management.
Lead the EDM team in ensuring safe and reliable operation of the site power distribution electrical equipment which includes voltages up to 138kV. This includes supporting the team through the maintenance of medium and high voltage power distribution equipment such as transformers, switchgear, breakers, protective relays, and battery systems.
Performs appropriate Manage Production roles as determined by Plant / Business (Operate Plant, Operating Discipline, etc.).
Review/approve Management of Change (MOC).
Participates as needed in outage/turnaround/client meetings ensuring alignment between Infrastructure Services and other site facilities.
Support and drive key EDM project work and initiatives, including planned electrical outages.
Demonstrates leadership with strong field presence via spending time in the field.
Prepares for and participates in key reviews and audits (such as Electrical Safety Audit, EH&S audit, PSM audit, self-assessments, etc.).
Ensures compliance to EH&S requirements and demonstrates EH&S priority and commitment through personal behaviors.
Provides EH&S approvals for field activities (Energized Electrical work, etc.)
Performs RCA facilitation, ownership and unplanned event reporting for the department as needed
Participates in on-call rotation for the EDM department at various times throughout the year.

Qualifications
Requirements:
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).
Minimum 5 years manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or infrastructure experience with demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills. Previous experience in power distribution and/or reliability engineering preferred.
Requires excellent leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills.
Must have the ability to work with diverse work groups and business.
Previous people leadership is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Midland I-Park facilities, tenants, and infrastructure is preferred.
