Job summary

The EHS Standards Specialist will report to the Sr. EHS Project & Standards Manger and will be a valued member of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) EHS EU Team. The responsibilities of the Standard Team are as versatile as implementing, monitoring and updating EHS Standards and Policies; internal reporting of EHS performance assuring accurate and complete data, ensuring legal compliance; assisting and monitoring projects and goal plans and provide data and trend analysis to enable continuous improvement. The EHS Standards Manager must be an effective communicator, sending clear, concise and consistent messages verbally and in written form. The role requires working effectively with all business owners to ensure the delivery and execution of EHS Processes and Standards. Cross-team coordination and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing (English) are essential.


Responsibilities

  • Create, implement and track EHS processes/guidelines and provide execution support to field teams
  • Ensuring compliance and enforcement of regulatory legislation in EHS workflows
  • Support the development and implementation of baseline risk assessments
  • Collect and analyse data and information out of various sources (deep dive) and conduct overall trend analysis providing ad-hoc and regular reports for EU EHS
  • Provides clear and concise communication to the Network and EHS Teams
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Amazon Standards
  • Drive EHS workflows and best practice standardization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education to degree level (preferred in safety/industrial/engineering or related discipline)
  • 5+ years experience in EHS or related field
  • Experience in managing regulatory and standard compliance
  • Flexible approach to work, able to manage own priorities, workload and travel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfortably interfacing with organizational leaders and other departments
  • Experience in designing, revising and implementing safety processes and procedural documentation (Management System)
  • Understanding of EU legislation and awareness of differences
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook good aptitude for learning additional software tools as needed
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Additional EU languages
  • Aptitude for learning additional software tools as needed
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
