Overview

The Territory EHS/DOT Manager will maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly data metrics to report to onsite operations leadership and corporate leadership. Supporting site management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate safety program expectations and applicable federal & state laws. Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions. In addition, the Territory EHS/DOT Manager will recommend and inspire change for the Operations Leadership through appropriate risk mitigation measures and safety data analysis. This position directly manages the EHS programs at multiple sites within the territory and oversees compliance with DOT requirements. The Territory EHS/DOT Manager has reporting lines up through site operations as well as Sr. EHS Leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the preforming of daily, weekly, and monthly audits
  • Report all Safety and DOT incidents immediately to the Regional EHS /DOT Manager as soon as possible.
  • Facilitate incident investigation process. Support field management in counseling drivers/employees and create a fact-driven investigation
  • Maintain required paperwork to comply with SGWS and OSHA regulations
  • Assist facility managers in performing periodic self-inspections in accordance with Company policies and DOT standards (safety observations and compliance audits)
  • Train and assist others (Managers/Supervisors, other safety/DOT team members, etc.) to complete their safety/DOT responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, etc.)
  • Facilitate / observe / evaluate training. Assist in development of Driver Training Program
  • Assist local management in identifying and targeting their primary transportation safety issues and/or unsafe performance trends (through DOT laws, road/ride checks, spot check inspections measures development, training, etc.)
  • Perform specific safety training as required by the Regional EHS Manager and VP of EHS
  • Conduct fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location
  • Establish on-going liaison with District regulatory agencies (State OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, etc.)
  • Other duties as required by the Regional EHS/DOT Manager and VP of EHS
  • Ability to travel: 60% to sites within the region

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • AS/AA in EHS or a closely related field or a combination of education and experience. BS/BA in EHS preferred
  • First Aid, CPR & AED trained
  • OSHA 10 General Industry. OSHA 30 General Industry preferred or willing to secure within 1 yr. of hire date

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs

This position is deemed a safety-sensitive position.  As such, any person who is given a conditional offer of employment will be required to pass a drug test, including a marijuana test.
