BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
Summary
This position is the content expert to lead and develop the safety and environmental culture at the Tellico Lake facility for Sea Ray Boats. The EHS Manager is responsible for managing the daily site operations ensuring the highest quality of safety and service is provided in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and established policies and procedures. This position designs and implements strategies, programs, policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a culture of behavioral safety creating programs that result in a safety culture of ownership and accountability.
- Facilitates a culture of proactivity around eradicating unsafe conditions. Drives this culture via daily management practices on the daily departmental Gemba.
- Ensures site maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory codes governing environmental, health and safety.
- Assists in updating and developing policies and procedures related to environmental, health and safety.
- Provides leadership, assistance and advice in facility audits related to environmental, health and safety.
- Provides daily guidance and direction in all environmental, health and safety programs at the leadership and employee levels to ensure common and effective results.
- Participates in all incident investigations on cross-functional teams to provide root cause analysis and corrective action input in order to prevent recurrence.
- Analyzes both lagging and leading indicators providing data to facility utilizing visual graphs, charts and summary analysis.
- Monitors information on regulations and requirements related to environmental, health and safety communicating as necessary to the appropriate team members.
- Responds and assists in incident related situations.
- Maintains all environmental, health and safety training records utilizing our Training Management Program.
- Partners with Human Resources to manage worker’s compensations claims.
- Managers Return to Work Program for the facility.
- Creates and conducts required environmental, health and safety training to include, but not limited to, new hire onboarding, emergency response training, bloodborne pathogens, powered industrial truck (PIT) and general awareness topics.
- Manages chemical inventory process.
- Manages Contractor Training Program requirements.
- Manages AIC systems tracking all incidents.
- Assists with management of worker's compensation management and OSHA log maintenance.
- Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions.
- Leads special projects to support business growth and initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University in Engineering, Safety or related field.
- Professional certifications, CSP or CHCM preferred.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in environmental, health and safety in a manufacturing environment required (preferably large facility, 400 employees or greater).
- Extensive understanding of all regulatory guidelines as they pertain to environmental, health and safety with proven experience leading an organization in adherence to the regulations.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with HRIS system and safety systems experience a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical skills that incorporate root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Must possess a business orientation and interactive skills to support the management team and function as a business partner.
- Strong communications skills (verbal and written).
- Group facilitation and presentation skills.
- Strong employee relations and change management skills.
- Demonstrated success in handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Position is based at the Tellico Operations plant
- Must be flexible to changing schedules and hours to support business objectives.
