Job Description
This role is responsible for developing, managing, and performing digital experiences for Hill’s Pet DTC sites. In partnership with the Digital Commerce Lead, the role will own the segment’s P&L and be responsible for scaling, rapidly growing, and optimizing its digital presence.
NOTE: This job is remote and can sit anywhere within the US.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Vision
- Provide business leadership into the agile sprint planning prioritization process.
- Articulate the business strategy and guide the product roadmap to improve growth.
- Build business input into requirements to ensure efficiency and quality of implementation for new web experiences.
Innovation & Results
- Responsible for identifying solutions and achieving successful results via our direct to consumer owned properties, focusing on revenue growth and consumer experience design.
- Communicate clearly and deliver innovative results in a timely, hard-working manner under established deadlines.
e-Commerce Tactical Execution and Merchandising
- Collaborate cross-functionally to keep content updated and merchandised on point with the latest findings and trends.
- Lead on-platform execution of new SKUs, SKU changes, and SKU discontinuations.
- Run promotion strategy in conjunction with finance, accounting, supply chain and I.T. team.
- Launch new digital properties working with Shopify Plus as our ecommerce partner.
Operational Excellence
- Partner with key cross-functional collaborators to ensure projects are launched timely and on-budget.
- Work closely with the Hill’s Customer Service team to ensure that the platform enables them to efficiently deliver outstanding service and partner on service-related end user communication as needed.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure adequate inventory levels and accurate shipping estimates.
Analytics & Insights Generation
- Analyze consumer data to generate insights that will serve the Hill’s business beyond Direct to Consumer platforms, helping to improve our consumer experience.
- Leverage Google Analytics and identify additional analytics opportunities to improve insight generation.
Education/ Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include: BS/BA with 7+ years of experience in Direct to Consumer strategy/merchandising with e-commerce work experience
Preferred qualifications include: MBA, experience working closely with development teams in an agile methodology and/or experience with enterprise e-Commerce platforms
Expected Areas of Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work successfully across functions, channels, and categories to align priorities, solve problems, optimize resources, and drive effective execution
- Experience with Shopify Plus enterprise ecommerce platform
- Able to lead multiple projects, balancing many deliverables and timelines with an understanding of their relative priorities
- Capable of understanding technical complexity and developing clear requirements for developers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong decision-making skills and an understanding of where projects fit into overall Company and category strategies
- Interpersonal savvy; an ability to optimally work with and connect with all levels throughout the organization across various functions and geographies
- Understanding of UX / CX principles
- Experience with Analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or similar) and familiarity with common CRM technologies
- Intermediate level (or greater) Excel / Sheets (including comfort with pivot tables & vlookups), Google slides (slide design principles, animations)
