Job Description
The eCommerce Freight Analyst performs freight cost analysis activities, evaluates data relative to our small parcel freight initiatives. This role is responsible for the administration of our third-party shipping software ShipExec, freight bill reconciliation, and reducing our accessorial charges. This person works closely with the Expanded Product Offering (EPO) team to ensure that vendors shipping performance is measured, policies adhered to, and reviewed by all parties.
What you will do:
- Develops and maintains good relations with suppliers, carriers, internal and external customers.
- Maintains relationship with third-party software provider
- Collaborates with Analysts, operations, vendors, and our carriers to maximize efficiency.
- Manages the communication and resolution of tracking and parcel shipments.
- Analyzes Gordon Food Service purchasing data and makes independent decisions regarding freight costing.
- Ensures accurate system freight costs through collaboration with other Gordon Food Service departments, and product suppliers.
- Reviews, audits, and reconciles Gordon Food Service's parcel shipping invoices for the EPO team.
- Generates, reviews and audits departmental financial reports.
- Develops reports in support of customer freight audits.
- Collaborate with product management to use customer feedback, research, market and data analysis to validate product/service roadmap direction.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to solve problems, provide feedback, and accept completed work.
- Collaborate with marketing, web, business leads, customer care, IT, and finance to identify, design, deliver, and report on assigned services/products.
- Coordinate communication, training and change management activities.
- Supports any new enhancements, and/or upgrades to systems
- Provides systems support and necessary training for business changes to our vendors e.g. upgrades to systems
- Creates and assists with the prioritization of all outstanding Jira projects.
- Develops, improves and maintains new and existing reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Leading candidates will have...
- Two years previous food service or supply chain management experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Marketing preferred
- Knowledge of freight costing components including hundredweight (cwt) calculations, line haul and accessorial expenses.
- Excellent listening and communication skills both written and verbal; comfortable speaking in front of large groups is a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel. Proficient in development of formulas, vlookups, pivot tables, macros, CSV’s.
- Previous experience with ShipExec is a plus, but not required.
