Purpose

Drivers shall ensure that SCI personnel on duty, visitors, material, goods and correspondence are transported to and from SCI offices, provinces or programs and projects in an appropriate, careful manner and always in strict compliance with SCI's policy. Save the Children on safe driving and the provisions of the Highway Code. Like other positions, the Driver's role is important, as it depends on the speed of implementation of activities to achieve the organization's mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum academic degree of 12th Class or the equivalent in experience, preferably with training in the field of mechanics.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

• Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a driver, preferably in NGOs;
• Proven organizational skills including skills to plan, set priorities and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with established requirements and goals;
• Valid professional driving licence;
• Excellent Driving skills;
• Ability to control and maintain vehicles;
• Knowledge of the Highway Code in force in the Republic of Mozambique;
• Knowledge of the Portuguese language (spoken and written).

Desirable

• Proven work experience in the area of ​​community development (advantage);
• Knowledge of mechanics, basic overhaul and maintenance skills;
• Ability to work independently and as a team member;
• Proven organizational skills including skills to plan, set priorities and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with established requirements and goals;
• Able to work under pressure and available to work whenever necessary outside normal office hours, on weekends and holidays;
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children's goals, values ​​and principles, including rights-based approaches.
