There are two roles available:
Directors Office Senior Leader The CMG Directors Office Support role is a high profile role within a fast paced, changeable and demanding environment. CMG is undergoing a significant period of change as we drive a crucial transformation agenda, whilst continuing to deliver a politically significant and fundamentally crucial service to millions of separated families around the country who depend upon the work we do. You will be at the heart of the Directorate as it continues to be colleague and customer focused, efficient and transforms its service offering optimising contact channels and digital services.
The role will involve regular contact with the Director in an office support role, working closely with; the Directors direct team and Operational Leadership Team including Partners, Service Excellence Directors and Director General office, Ministerial office, People & Capability partners and other DWP directorates. You will be expected to keep abreast of developments affecting CMG, bringing items of interest to the attention of the Director. The job requires flexibility and openness to change, excellent drafting skills, outstanding team-working and communications skills.
Key Responsibilities include:
Supporting the Director in the delivery of their objectives ensuring opportunities and risks are identified, and proposals raised in good time to the Director to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.
Having a particular focus on colleagues and supporting the Director in visibility, leadership and engagement.
Ensuring that the Director is supported on a day-to-day basis with briefings and other information needed to carry out the role effectively.
Responding to prioritised Directors e-mails and correspondence of importance and urgency, ensuring that systems are in place for all e-mails and correspondence to be dealt with effectively and within deadlines.
Drafting for the Director on a range of issues, often at short notice.
Liaison on a regular basis with other Directors Offices, the Director Generals Office.
Directors both within DWP and across other Government Departments.
Acting on behalf of the Director on a range of issues, including ensuring that often very tight deadlines requiring input from others are met.
Undertaking specific projects on behalf of the Director.
Resources Senior Leader The role requires the close working with business partners form the central areas of DWP and the establishment of good working relationships at all levels of the operational organisation. The post holder must be skilled at building and maintaining relationships at all levels.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:
Lead, plan and deliver recruitment and vacancy filling activity for CMG in support of corporate and resource plans;
Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the business delivery approach is developed and agreed;
Lead activity with DWP colleagues to support changes to CMG Estates, and to develop, agree, share and communicate agreed actions, with responsibility for implementation activity.
