Role:  Director, Worldwide Immunology Commercialization

Location: Princeton Pike or Ex-US (Uxbridge)

Reports to:  Jonathan Miller, Executive Director, Orencia WW Brand Lead & Immunology Commercialization

Number of Direct Reports:  TBD

 Purpose/Objective of the Role

The individual in this role will play a key role in helping to maximize the future value of the growing BMS Immunology portfolio by building a Worldwide engagement model to drive performance with execution and launch readiness within local markets. This is a critical role given BMS’ ambition to be a leader in Immunology, and the promising in the franchise.  The position reports to the Executive Director, Orencia WW Brand Lead and Immunology Commercialization.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this role will be a proven marketing leader with experience at both the global and local levels who can effectively engage with the affiliates to drive cohesive execution of the Immunology franchise strategy and drive launch execution for our innovative brands.  

The Director, Worldwide Immunology Commercialization will have responsibility for:

  • Develop and optimize a seamless interface model between the markets and the WW Immunology teams across all brands and therapeutic areas to ensure:

    • Alignment and engagement with WW Strategy, supporting pull-through to the affiliates

    • Representation of local markets and their needs within WW initiatives and forums

    • Support of prioritization for regional / local opportunities and challenges

  • Enhance flawless execution and ensure launch readiness of the markets for all brands in the Immunology portfolio  across four key specialty pillars of Rheumatology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology and Neurology.

  • Enhance engagement to share learnings, capabilities and innovations across markets and Immunology therapeutic areas

  • Partner with markets to gain a deep understanding of local market dynamics, including customer and competitive insights, and growth opportunities to drive local market execution

  • Fully integrate into the matrix and network of the countries and teams through the building of strong, open and transparent relationships, built on confidence and strength of purpose

  • Guide countries in supporting focus and performance on key business opportunities

  • Be a partner for innovation for both the WW teams and the markets

  • Ensure a strong two-way dialogue exists between the local markets and the WW Immunology Strategy and Brand teams to ensure seamless execution of the franchise and brand strategies.

    Qualifications

  • University degree required; MBA or equivalent degree preferred

  • 10+ years of commercial experience, ideally with experience in brand marketing for immune-mediated diseases (particularly Dermatology and Gastroenterology). Knowledge of key treaters and in-market experience is a plus.

  • The successful candidate will have a broad set of leadership and functional experiences given the variety of responsibilities encompassed in a single role.

  • Depth of marketing (launch through to mature brand) experience is highly preferred both in country and above country in WW roles

  • Proven track record of driving performance and executional excellence

  •  Knowledge of international healthcare customers, stakeholders and influencers and understanding of their needs is a plus.

  • Proven leadership skills, through both team leadership and International matrix leadership across diverse cultures

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, direct and engage to drive aligned execution, ideally across a large team – for this aspect in engaging with the markets, strong leadership skills are a must

  • Excellent communication skills with strong business acumen and partnership skills, from both a consultative perspective and an interpersonal perspective

  • Extensive experience of stakeholder management both from an external and internal perspective and across country and from a Global perspective; Able to flex across different types of cultures, complexities, and business situations

  • This role will involve about 25% travel given the need for market engagement.

  • Capacity to work effectively both in a face to face environment and a virtual environment

  • This role can be based in either the US or Ex-US depending on the suitable candidate
