The Director is a senior-level technology professional that is responsible for leading teams and individuals across IT DevOps infrastructure and influencing the partner alignment to the organization DevOps IT platforms. The candidate should have DevOps platform and application infrastructure integration oversight and delivery. Candidate should have software/application support experience, knowledge of software and hardware integration an understanding of enterprise architecture, people leadership background and strong written and verbal communication skills.
The position will require a candidate to be responsible for planning and directing the work of a group of individuals and influencing alignment among multiple teams as both a people and technical leader. The position will be responsible for guiding employees and contractors directly, supervising larger groups of diverse skills. The position will require providing guidance to direct reports, prioritizing work among the team, influencing others to achieve department goals, enablement and accountability for production delivery and direct communication with Senior Management.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
Lead a team of technical employees and contractors, providing technical leadership for developing and maintaining systems and applications
Provide technical direction and guidance to team through full infra-platform lifecycle, not just on a project level but also with a vision for the future direction of the Department
Help develop, maintain and execute a multi-year enterprise-wide cloud native platform roadmap. This includes Kubernetes, virtualized machines and application CI/CD workflows and lifecycles.
Work with business analysts, developers and domain experts to transform application requirements and business rules into sustainable platform for software applications and or microservices
Support other operations and development teams by providing advanced technical analysis, troubleshooting and triage as needed
Work with management around project milestones and across functions with peers in other groups to ensure collaboration for shared goals
Leads special programs and projects: Provides overall leadership (program and platform leadership) for all ED&O initiatives at Cox Communications and other technology projects and platforms as assigned.
Working with senior management, and other peers, for strategy development and execution planning
Providing clear individual goals and performing peer reviews for the entire functional area
Communicating financial and goal results and key performance indicators to direct reports
Manage IT OPS integrations budgets, SOWs and project financials
Guiding the talent identification and development processes for the team
Providing guidance to direct reports and contractors
Leading one-on-one meetings with employees, guiding them through their career path and goals
Performing semi-annual employee reviews and performance evaluations
Introduce, deliver, and manage reporting, and continuous improvement methods to ensure platform stability, efficiency, health, performance and resiliency.
Qualifications:
Minimal Qualifications:
5+ years of experience working as a team lead or a manager responsible for providing technical and/or people leadership
Ability to collaborate in a very fast paced environment
Previous experience in providing technical direction to team of developers and production support
Previous experience building large volume, mission critical enterprise applications
Excellent communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate to technical developers, QA and Operations support engineers and technical and nontechnical management
Organization skills to track roles and responsibilities and report on individual and team status
Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in all aspects of application platform integration and end-to-end testing
Strategic skills for roadmaps and vision for platform operations as it affects internal / external clients and partners
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
Previous experience in telecommunications field
