We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Director, CMB Financial Resource Management Strats Role Overview: This is a truly unique opportunity to join at the beginning of building a new function within HSBC’s Commercial Bank that will have a huge impact on profitability and the way we do business. We are looking for people who have worked in a strat/quant function elsewhere within the finance sector or who have experience of modelling and analytics within the Commercial Banking space. The role holder will lead specific workstreams to identify opportunities to improve the profitability of the business using quantitative analysis, developing tools to monitor risks to profitability and leading cross functional teams to implement changes to the technology stack. This includes, but is not limited to, funding costs, interest rate risk, reserves, liquidity risk and RWAs As a senior leader in the team, the role holder is expected to support the Head of Strats in defining the strategic agenda of the function through; supporting the build out the team construct, develop and release of tooling and infrastructure, identifying new and innovative opportunities, upskilling the wider team on techniques and methods, strong advocate for CMB FRM & Strats capabilities. As part of a global team the role will involve working with multiple regional teams with a view to identifying best practice in terms of FRM and introducing those ideas and processes across regions. These include the use of technology, statistical analysis and risk management techniques as well as the enhancement of relevant models. In this role, you will:
