The Director, Strategy & Operations, Major Markets & Intercon In Region team will play a key role in leading key strategic projects and managing day-to-day operations of the In Region teams. This role will have responsibility for strategic analysis to support development of region-specific initiatives, management of operational priorities for the teams, sharing best practices and leading and measuring the impact of large projects on the function and growth of the business.
The ideal candidate for this Director role has a good understanding and application of global/large health care systems for market access, understanding of evidence generation strategies, pricing and reimbursement levers within the biopharmaceutical industry and strong project management skills. The individual is expected to work collaboratively with WW/local teams in the planning and execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with and support Intercon and Major Market VPs and teams to achieve region-specific VAP strategic and overall business goals, lead operational elements for teams (budget, planning, communications) and drive and execute on identified key projects
Identify, track and maintain understanding of external market access environment trends and implications for organization in Major Markets / Intercon
Develop process and system to share best practices and tools leading to improvements in efforts and outcomes of key initiatives
Assemble and share learnings and feedback from Access leadership in Markets. Assist in on boarding of key new staff making connections to leverage resources, experiences as appropriate
Align and coordinate key metrics management and data collection among key functions including tracking projects, KPIs
Lead / contribute to development of trackers and reports for Senior Leadership to drive effective decision-making
Coordinate responses and representation of in region teams across various workstreams for WW VAP & HEOR and Commercial
Support development of communication platforms, including development of communication channels and strategic and tactical communication cascades with Markets
Act as contact for In Region teams across WW VAP & HEOR for development and execution of cross-functional initiatives
Lead development and execution of regular in region team meetings
Monitor and manage budget
Qualifications & Experience
Understanding of the biopharmaceuticals industry in oncology, hematology and specialty therapeutics in ICON and Major Markets
Understanding of value, access, pricing, payment systems globally
Minimum of 8 years’ experience with a strong track record in WW Market Access, Pricing, Value and Access Marketing, and HEOR
Individual must possess the ability to build alignment and drive performance across matrix teams through personal influence
Knowledge of the Product Development and Commercialization Process
Demonstrated learning agility; ability to adapt in an agile way as required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to think analytically, observe trends and prioritize insights
Ability to set and deliver in dynamic, rapidly evolving environment; ability to think critically about issues and understand context and likely challenges
Good clarity of judgment and effective implementation of solutions. Decisively confronts and resolves issues. Works constructively under pressure

Undergraduate degree required, MBA and/or post graduate degree and / or PharmD preferred
Ability to travel within region ~20%
