The Role
Workplace Investing (WI) is seeking a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Observability Lead at Director level.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate SRE Centre of Excellence (COE) team who are dedicated to providing a truly predictable customer experience. Under times of market volatility and high volumes, there is an increased expectation of a consistent service level. In WI, we strive to meet this expectation by building reliability into our ecosystem. This will be achieved though defining & implementing practices in Resiliency Engineering, Automation, Observability & Chaos Testing while also engraining a proactive Reliability Culture that thinks reliability first design.
We are seeking an energetic, results focused Observability Lead (OL). As an OL, you will be responsible for the devising & implementing WI’s Observability strategy covering metrics, tracing and logging across our WI wide application portfolio (onPrem and Cloud). You will be a thought leader in devising ways to proactively monitor our systems health & rapidly diagnose and recover when incidents do occur.
Key areas of focus for SRE COE include: Developing an E2E resiliency Framework and toolkit, developing a WI wide Observability & Chaos testing strategy, assessing existing systems for vulnerabilities, being proactive in building in reliability to new development initiatives, reviewing E2E pipeline and defining reliability gates, building a culture of reliability engineering within the WI teams.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Required:
Proven experience in implementing advanced observability practices and techniques at scale.
Experience building and operating log aggregation, tracing, metrics aggregation, and alerting systems that aid in diagnosing and understanding what is going on in complex hybrid deployment models.
Experience working across E2E Customer Transactions (multi app, multi technologies, multi deployment models)
Possess an automation mentality to drive scalable Observability approaches
Proven ability to research new areas and provide thought leadership on Observability for needs now and into the future.
Experience influencing cultural changes across a large organization and large number of squads.
Experience with onPrem and Cloud deployment models.
Results focused – ability to coordinate observability activities and drive work to completion at pace.
Ability to articulate the value of efforts
Ability to work closely with architects, operations, and technical teams to drive best possible observability solutions.
Ability to collaborate with other Observability experts across Fidelity to share best practices and influence direction.
Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines and methods.
Preferred:
Experience in AWS/Azure preferred
Experience with Datadog, Prometheus and Splunk are a plus
Operations of a SaaS Service a plus

You will join the WI Site Reliability Engineering Centre of Excellence.
The COE has a number of key workstreams, with passionate associates leading the development and implementation of SRE capabilities.
You will have accountability for delivering strategic change across a diverse set of applications, technologies and teams.
