The Fidelity Client Solutions Technology (CST) organization is looking for Director, Software Engineering as a Technical Leader in the growing Planning & Advice Product Area to drive design and development of industry leading financial planning web experiences. The new comprehensive retirement planning experience will seek to bring together capabilities such as financial goal planning, retirement income & expenses, investment advice and financial projections capabilities to better serve our clients and more efficiently partner with them to accomplish their financial objectives.

CST organization provides know-how, talent, and standards in many areas of Wealth Management including digital planning & advice, investment products, managed solutions, life insurance, retirement & income planning, and large-scale platform development & operation. As a technology leader on our team, you will have a direct and positive impact on Fidelity’s customers. The industry leading products and ever-evolving technology stack that we support ensures a phenomenal learning culture in the team.

The Expertise You Have

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

10+ years’ experience developing modern web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript technology stack and SPA frameworks like Angular

2+ years’ experience using Node JS, Express JS, Nest JS or GraphQL to develop web application backend APIs.

Good experience with Test Automation and Frameworks like Jest, Protractor, Mocha, Jasmine or Cypress.

Comfortable building and deploying software using Continuous Integration/ Deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins.

Proven experience in building and deploying software solutions utilizing public cloud provider services like AWS.

The Value You Deliver

Provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers who are responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining greenfield web applications.

Drive execution of multiple development work streams while ensuring design and architecture is scalable, resilient, and extensible.

Provide coaching, guidance, training, and mentorship to software engineers on the team while helping define Web/API engineering standards, top industry practices, and tooling.

Contributing back to the team by developing solutions that help improve developer efficiency or sharing knowledge about new techniques and technologies.

Ensure technology decisions align with Fidelity’s architecture standards and strategies.

Evaluate and recommend technology and frameworks for flexibility, long-term viability, and time to market.
