Risk Director – FFIO Fund Administration and Fund Operations

Do you want to help support a rapidly growing area and constantly learn new things? The FFIO Risk Team within the Fidelity Legal, Risk and Compliance group is looking for a passionate, hard-working Risk Director to help support the business in proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with Fidelity’s growing investment products and capabilities. As Risk Director, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and reporting on significant risks and influencing management regarding improvements to the operational control environment in order protect the interests of the firm and our customers.  

The Businesses We Support

You will primarily support the Fund Operations and Fund Administration teams within Fidelity's Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit. The FFIO business unit provides middle and back office operational support to Fidelity Retail and Institutional products, including books and records maintenance, securities' pricing, fund and security level performance analysis, financial reporting, and tax work. The Fund Ops team is responsible for the books & records of retail, institutional, and other accounts as well as for daily pricing activities for equities, fixed income, and derivatives.  Fund Admin is responsible for a number of critical functions including but not limited to shareholder reporting, proxy voting, new product implementation, and transfer agent consolidation.

This role is part of a larger Risk and Compliance team that supports the other groups within FFIO, as well as a variety of Fidelity’s Corporate Functions, including Fidelity Real Estate Company (FREC), Corporate Accounting, Corporate Treasury, Procurement, and Enterprise HR. 

The Expertise You Have

Bachelors’ Degree required

10+ years’ industry experience including Audit, Risk Management, and/or Asset Management operations

Audit or other Risk Management assessment/testing experience preferred

Demonstrated leadership and project management experience

Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information

Analytical Thinking – ability to determine root causes and to help create alternative solutions; proficiency with data analytics capabilities/tools a plus

Adaptability to enable managing multiple concurrent risk projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and impactfully; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization

Sound Judgment – ability to make insightful decisions and action recommendations by analyzing opportunities, risks, and their impact on the business

Strong and inclusive working relationships, in person and virtually, with business partners and colleagues

Presentation and Writing Skills – ability to develop and deliver formal and informal presentations to a variety of audiences

Ability to coach, train and provide direction to less experienced associates as well as knowledge-share with others

Subject matter expertise in one or more Fund Ops / Fund Admin functional areas preferred
