Automates bulk data testing of mainframe applications, using Hyperstation, REXX, and DB2 tools. Tests User Interface (UI) applications, using UFT and Selenium tools. Draws on in-depth knowledge of advanced principles, theories, and concepts to create high quality testing solutions for complex projects, applications, and products. Responsible for overall design and maintenance of organizational test strategy and master test plans. Consults with development architects on internal service quality control standards, policies, and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Removes test data related impediments to assist Quality Assurance (QA) Engineers.
• Automates bulk data testing of mainframe applications.
• Tests User Interface (UI) applications to provision bulk data.
• Creates test cases to support QA teams based on identified test data and coordinates the testing effort with the various teams.
• Consults on standards for the development of test scripts, deployment, and reuse.
• Leads formal reviews of application designs, business, and functional requirements.
• Defines and implements test methodology, standards, procedures, milestones, and metrics.
• Develops or extends test automation strategy where complex test data is involved.
• Consults on developing in-house test tools and harnesses.
• Researches and recommends automated test development tools and alternative test tools.
• Provides mentoring and training to team members.
• Provides expertise, and technical supervision on complex projects.
• Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.
• Provides leadership and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
• Researches and recommends new technologies.
• Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
• Supports production verification and validation related to test data issues.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience providing functional and regression data support for complex data needs within a financial brokerage services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience providing functional and regression data support for complex data needs within a financial brokerage services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DEâ€) designing, planning, and building online transaction processing financial brokerage services applications.
DE automating GUI test cases using QTP/UFT; performing Web services test automation data setup using Soap UI; automating functional and regression test cases, using mainframe DB2, and JCL utilities; and performing mainframe screens testing using HYPERSTATION, and REXX scripts.
DE leading automation design and implementation project planning, status reporting, and scheduling using MS Project.
DE performing data provisioning and bulk data setup using iCEDQ and Jagacy scripts in a brokerage domain.
