Director, Programmatic Demand Business Development

Spectrum Reach currently seeks a dynamic Director, Programmatic Demand Business Development to drive revenue for our Enterprise Advanced Advertising division.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…

The Director will manage all sales related activity for Spectrum Reach’s (SR) programmatic demand business development. In addition the role will work closely with Advanced Advertising Business Development Team leadership to build a business foundation and partnerships to accommodate new demand (e.g. PMPs, PGs), and partner with existing SR sales channels, agencies, and advertisers as they convert to automated buying. This role will be both external and internal facing.

Externally, this role will work closely with supply and demand ad tech partners (SSP, DSP) and their respective demand facilitation teams to capitalize on revenue opportunities through programmatic marketplaces or through direct deals to drive topline revenue. This effort will require client / agency outreach, deal flow, partnership and client development, negotiation, and ongoing client relationship management.

Internally this role will interface with our Local and National Advanced Advertising Sales teams to serve as their sales POC/ partner and support them in consultancy manner to source, develop, pitch, facilitate/ execute, and grow deals requiring programmatic execution and further accelerate growth for those lines of business.

Reports directly to Senior Director, Business Development and will work cross functionally with our Product, Yield, Sales, Ops, Marketing and Finance teams on programmatic demand pricing strategy, packaging, deal types/ components, reporting needs, troubleshooting, marcom to client demand/buyers and tech demand teams, and more.

In addition, the Director will work closely with BD team to inform the building blocks of SR programmatic business by applying business controls like whitelist, blocklist, category blocks, deal prioritization, deal structures, processes, and more to help operate and grow long term.

Qualifications/ Experience

  • 8+ years in total experience with proven track record of multi-million dollar sales goals
  • 3+ years of sales leadership experience in a revenue impacting capacity w/in programmatic CTV
  • Hands on experience with SSP, DSPs, marketplaces (e.g. SpotX, TTD, Freewheel)
  • Track record of success navigating and cultivating agency holding companies + national clients
  • Previous experience in ground level building, managing, and growing revenue and pipeline of deals with programmatic agencies, trading desks, and marketplaces
  • Knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem, and how CTV is bought and sold
  • Experience with both PMP and PG deal types
  • Skilled in sales strategy, sales planning, and revenue forecasting
  • Passionate about the convergence of entertainment, technology, and data that is fueling new opportunities for Spectrum Reach, advertisers, and Madison Avenue
  • High caliber level of communication style, strategic aptitude, and executive presence
  • Business ownership mentality - own your work, own your activity, problem solver, creative
  • Understanding of 3rd party ad servers, tags, and video ad serving concepts (e.g. VAST)
  • Able to assist clients (and sellers) w/ PMP + Programmatic Guaranteed set-up/ troubleshooting
  • Customer obsessed to insure excellent client experience and service pre, during, and post
  • Collaborative skills to “work the matrix” to drive outcomes and revenue
  • Evangelization and transformational skills to get people excited while navigating change
  • Passion to educate teams on programmatic ecosystem and opportunity at varying skill levels
  • Comfortable with entrepreneurial speed and “pinch hitting” for different roles as we build

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and work experience
