Job Summary:

The Director of post production oversees the team, projects, and campaigns in support of The Walt Disney Company’s creative content and marketing organizations. This includes team management, budget planning, as well as oversight of color correction, editing, audio mixing, reformatting, and titling in a high-volume deadline-driven hybrid environment. In this role, she/he leads cross-functional teams and creative agencies to assess the scope and challenges of multiple concurrent productions, projects, and campaigns, and guides the planning to successfully deliver and meet competing deadlines. This position requires is a team champion who is trusting, professional, respectful, and is committed to creating a safe inclusive environment for team members to develop, grow and thrive. This leader will build relationships with internal and external technology, operations, and creative teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive efficiency at scale. This all requires strong knowledge of current and emerging post production technology and workflows, a strategic mindset, and is responsible for annual budget forecasting, evaluation, and guiding implementation of hardware, software, and technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross functional teams and creative agencies to assess scope and challenges of projects/campaigns, and anticipate and mitigate obstacles
  • Direct daily operations for high volume post production team
  • Identify, evaluate, refine, and improve internal post processes to increase efficiency and scale capacity while delivering highest quality content
  • Maintain and develop knowledge of current and emerging post production workflows
  • Champion, develop and manage professional growth of team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in television post production, marketing operations, or related field
  • Expert knowledge in establishing and supervising post production processes and timelines including color correction, VFX, editorial, titling, and audio mixing
  • Experience supervising post production workflows for multiple content types and distribution channels, including linear television, streaming, film, social, and integrated production
  • Ability to think strategically, predict problems before they arise and resolve issues in a collaborative fashion
  • Experience communicating alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient with technical specifications used in broadcast, cable, OTT, and social media platforms
  • Expert knowledge of editing and audio mixing tools including Adobe Premiere Pro (including color grading with this tool), Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, Apple Final Cut X, Adobe After Effects, Pro Tools, etc.
  • Knowledge of HD Broadcast standards including LKFS metering and restrictions, High Dynamic Range, Leader HD Scopes, DK Meters, Dolby Delivery specs, 5.1 and ATMOS surround mixing, and codecs
  • Excellent organization, planning, and written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be able to handle a constantly changing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Experienced leader with demonstrable experience growing and developing team members

Required Education

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in media related area of study
