The challenge

The Cloud Foundation group accelerates product delivery at Adobe. Service teams use our managed infrastructure, frameworks, and processes to get to market faster. Our goal is to enable these product teams at Adobe to produce powerful experiences with building blocks that improve over time.

The opportunity

The Cloud Foundation team is looking for a leader for its organization-wide developer platform. We have a vision to accelerate Adobe's product roadmap through our innovations in everything from code frameworks, to development process automation (CI/CD), to managed multi-cloud infrastructure. This project empowers hundreds of development teams, so this role will expose you to all corners of Adobe and its partners.

• We’re building the next-generation cloud platform to develop, deploy, and run Adobe products.
• Our team of 40+ people work in smaller groups of 3-5 developers. This allows us to be agile while working as part of a larger organization.
• Our technologies operate at scale - and growing! There are plenty of challenges to overcome, decisions to be made, and new development to do.
• We're globally distributed but remain tight-knit. The group is in the US, Canada, England, Germany, Switzerland, India, Japan, to name a few.

• Ecosystem: Linux, Docker, Kubernetes
• Open-source software: Envoy, Prometheus, React
• Languages: Go, Python, Java, Lua, C/C++, NodeJS
• Providers: AWS, Azure, Private Cloud

Responsibilities:

• Single-threaded leadership: coordinate leaders of product management, engineering, architecture, operations, and architecture
• Own product technical roadmaps, backlog, and team financials
• Influence internal and external partnership commitments
• Define vision and product market fit
• Work in a fast-paced, agile process

What you need to succeed:

• Communication: team is geographically distributed, need to broadcast themselves as a leader in all locations. Expect leadership presence with fully-developed oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Relationship management: build deep partnerships with teams inside the company to support their needs. Need to influence commitments, solicit platform feedback for ecosystem and organization fit.
• People development and leadership: expansive mature team covering a variety of skills, each looking for their next big career step. Leaders work to empower the team and get each member to their best.
• Technical Ownership: work alongside senior team members to define and implement a vision, weigh major architectural decisions that impact some of the largest cloud provider accounts.
• B.S. or above degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
