We are looking for someone to lead our Outbound Licensing team playing a key role in continuously developing the Outbound Licensing (OBL) strategy to reflect updated audience and marketplace needs and opportunities.
This position is responsible for leading brand building efforts with external partners, driving strategic and operational transformation, and generating value via the ongoing development and implementation of the LEGO® OBL business within product categories and experiences.
OBL acts as a play extender and cultural catalyst by supporting the initiation of an outstanding portfolio of products and experiences, providing children and adults with more ways to experience the LEGO brand.
The business and the execution of the consumer promise are carried out through partnership; covering licensing partners, Direct-to-Retail collaborations and wider branded partnerships!
Core Responsibilities:
Strategy
· Continuously develop the OBL strategy, in partnership with Product and Marketing Development (PMD) colleagues to support the long-term ambitions of the company.
Portfolio
· Enrich the LEGO Brand experience by bringing the right quality products and experiences to market – co-developed with selected partners.
· Support the continued innovation of our categories by building positive relationships with world-class third-parties
Business and Brand Partnerships
· Identify and select key licensing Partners who both align with our brand and purpose and support our objectives as a business.
· Deliver outstanding and measurable value towards shared goals.
· Ensure adherence to our policies and support our effort within Social and Environmental Responsibility as a Brand
Go to market
· Extend and expand the presence of LEGO OBL in mature markets – primarily North America and Western Europe.
· Develop new markets – in alignment with local/ regional needs.
Third party licensors
· Build relationship and shared business opportunities with LEGO Inbound Licensing Partners.
Leadership:
· People management and people development.
Capability building within the team; champion and advocate a strong innovation and value driven culture.
Do you have what it takes?
· Experience in strategic marketing and licensing program development for both the brand and product opportunities.
· Proven track record within consumer products business development, with experience in partnership marketing and retail licensing. A consistent record of value generation, high profile contract negotiations, and product development.
· A background that includes Brand Development, Global Licensing, Commercial Agreements, Relationship Building, Team Building & Leadership, Presentation Skills and Strategy Development
· Strong collaboration and partnership skills, as well as an enjoyment of engaging with a diverse and impactful network
· A degree in Business or related area, combined with some years of people management experience.
· Proficiency in English - both verbal and written.
