Job Summary:

The Director of Consumables is responsible for managing all elements of the Disney/Pixar branded Food, Health/Personal Care, Beauty, and Pets Licensing business in NA; this includes setting strategic vision, annual budget / quarterly forecasting, and team management. They will also have oversight of Licensee relationships, and direct management of several, which includes increasing existing portfolio revenue, driving new business development, and negotiating the full contract lifecycle.

Their key accountability is to drive revenue growth through lifestyle brand activations, new product launches, and exploring partnerships through new business development initiatives. This role will develop and lead consumer products programs in alignment with our Evergreen Franchise teams and new content partners. The position will report into the NA V.P. of Commercialization.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Develop strategic growth opportunities for Disney/Pixar branded Food, Health/Personal Care, Beauty, and Pets categories
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to a team of 6 (2 direct reports)
  • Build strong team-oriented relationships with Commercialization peers and other key business units (e.g., Global Product Creative, Integrated Retail, Finance, Franchise, Consumer Insights, Product Integrity, Studio Promotions, Corporate Alliance, etc.), as well as global Commercialization peers that result in new business and/or cross-promotional opportunities
  • Foster strong relationships with Licensees and key retailers to maximize commercial and brand opportunities

Finance and Business Planning:

  • Set team objectives and priorities to achieve revenue and wholesale sales targets
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to drive incremental revenue
  • Develop and present annual operating plans, revenue forecasts, and business insights

Licensee and Category Management:

  • Provide business vision and set strategic direction for Food, Health/Personal Care, Beauty, and Pets categories
    • Includes deal negotiation and developing growth plans aligned with consumer, retailer, and region teams
  • Identify new opportunities and pitch companies to develop consumer product programs in connection with content and marketing plans
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with Licensees including onboarding, contract negotiation, issue resolution, approvals, and promotions
  • Research and understand the competitive landscape; analyze and understand market, consumer, retail, and industry trends

Retail, Sales, and Marketing:

  • Create retail strategies and identify ways to expand retail presence for Licensees / portfolio
  • Provide product and Licensee information to the Retail and Marketing teams to support meetings and presentations
  • Inform and guide Licensees in the execution of marketing initiatives
  • Ensure Licensee participation in retail promotion and marketing plans
  • Proactively engage internal Marketing, Communications, and Social Media teams to drive awareness of product lines
  • Monitor retail sales performance of key Licensees and programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 10-15 years of directly related experience (Licensing, business development, account management); experience with Consumer-Packaged Goods categories is a plus
  • Solid understanding of Food, Drug, Mass channels and product distribution mechanisms
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong relationship building skills, flexible and adaptable; able to collaborate, influence, and persuade at all levels of an organization, both internal and external
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Capable of working independently and managing a variety of initiatives / opportunities simultaneously
  • Self-starter, motivated, proactive, dependable, entrepreneurial, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel (on occasion)

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required, Master’s degree is a plus
