Job Description

Colgate-Palmolive Company invites applications to the position of Director, Financial Reporting and Analysis in our NY office.  This position will lead a team of financial professionals and provide overall guidance, direction and oversight to the Accounting Policy and Financial Reporting team. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of wide variety of financial and other external reports including SEC filings;

  • Determine appropriate accounting for transactions and advise senior management on a variety of technical accounting and business issues;

  • Lead preparation of financial material used in communications to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and senior management covering accounting issues to enable decision making;

  • Manage various special projects such as implementation of new accounting standards, transactions, and serve as financial liaison to various multi-functional task forces focused on operational issues;

  • Manage the preparation and analysis of benefit plan financial statements and related audits;

  • Oversee the Company’s global Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program;

  • Oversee the Company’s internal controls over ESG reporting;

  • Coordinate and manage accounting for international pension plans ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements;

  • Remain current on pending accounting guidance and evaluate the financial implications of proposed/new accounting pronouncements;

  • Update the company’s financial and accounting policies as needed and assist the Divisions in the application and adherence to the policies;

  • Partner closely with key internal and external stakeholders;

  • Deliver presentations to senior management and the Board of Directors

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • BS in Accounting or Finance;

  • CPA required;

  • At least 10 years of practical SEC reporting experience, preferably in a Big 4 public accounting environment servicing consumer products or manufacturing clients;

  • Management experience essential;

  • Previous experience serving multinational clients preferred;

  • Strongly prefer candidates open to an overseas assignment as a possible next step;

  • Successful candidate must possess prior SEC experience within last 1-2 years
