Job Summary

Oversee and lead multiple advisory and assurance projects. Provides recommendations to management while maintaining a strong control environment. Review and advise team on complex and interpretive financial analyses and executes financial, operational, IT and compliance reviews throughout the company. The position will spend a significant amount of time leading and developing the audit staff, building relationships with management throughout the organization and driving the function’s strategies.  10 years of related experience.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual risk assessment and development of comprehensive and flexible risk-based audit plan, including communication to management and senior leadership
  • Collaborate with Audit Managers in developing and maintaining schedules of resources
  • Provide leadership and oversight to all phases of audits (i.e., pre-planning, planning, fieldwork, and reporting).
  • Implement the audit plan, by clearly defining the objective and scope of each review, employing critical thinking and appropriate testing methodologies, including, as appropriate, any special tasks or projects requested by management or the audit committees.
  • Participate in developing and executing the department’s strategies
  • Lead investigations in association with the company’s Code of Conduct
  • Participate in and/or lead, Company-wide initiatives
  • Interpret COSO, IIA and other leading standards and incorporate into Company’s internal audit methodology
  • Establish business efficiencies through the use of data analytics, automation and continuous improvement techniques
  • Provide risk management and internal control leadership and support regarding effective operating and designed controls, risk mitigation strategies and overall compliance with company’s policies and procedures
  • Review test work, including the internal control environment and promoting continuous enhancements and improvement of financial and operational controls, processes and system capabilities
  • Responsible for the overall work quality of internal audit, which includes maintaining and/or updating, internal audits quality assurance standards
  • Establish and maintain key relationships throughout the organization as a means for obtaining information needed to perform functional duties, provide business advisory services and strategic recommendations
  • Coordinate audit activities with those of the external auditors to ensure proper audit coverage, elimination of duplication of effort, and improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of audit activities.
  • Prepare and Communicate reports and periodic updates to management, and as appropriate, to the audit committees providing information on the status, recommendations and any deficiencies found during the audits.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related Field required
  • CPA CIA and/or CISA required
  • 10 or more years of relevant public accounting, internal audit, or other financial experience required
  • Experience in Fortune 500 and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience managing and leading teams required
  • Strong command of GAAP and business process analysis required
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% required
