Within Fidelity Institutional (FI), the Client Relationship Group (CRG) finance organization delivers practical financial decision support & analysis for all CRG’s product lines and underlying clients. The team works very closely with CRG’s leadership team and numerous business partners helping these groups understand the profitability of clients, intermediary pricing, and the statistical, financial and business health of CRG. This Director position will be responsible for partnering with CRG’s senior leadership and performing extensive analytics relative to the overall financial performance of CRG and to provide context to senior management and ensure alignment with FI’s business objectives. The successful candidate will be able to establish relationships across CRG / FI and cross-Fidelity business partners and effectively communicate with various levels of the organization and demonstrate highly creative analytical skills to enable improved business results.

The Director will drive numerous analyses on segments, new programs / offerings, intermediary pricing, compensable goal setting, and strategic initiatives.

This role reports directly to the Vice President, Finance in CRG.

Success will require intellectual curiosity, comprehensive problem solving, independent thinking, confidence, and a strong work ethic. The role requires, and will continue to develop, expertise related to responsibilities including executive decision support (e.g. quarterly segment reviews and executive presentations), client analytics, intermediary pricing and compensable goal setting, business performance evaluation, and executive relationship management. The role requires collaboration with finance and business associates across the firm and will interact with senior members of FI’s finance and business organizations with a high degree of autonomy.

The Role

Summarizing financial and statistical data with meaningful interpretation, and tailor presentation of data for a variety of audiences

Identify automation opportunities for the dissemination of financial, statistical, and client level information.

Synthesize data, analyses, and conclusions into presentation form, and deliver strategic recommendations to senior finance and business management

Provide leadership on the CRG finance team to accomplish our objectives

The Expertise and the Skills You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent with 7-10+ years of experience.

Exceptional analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, project management, and problem-solving capabilities. Flexibility and the skill to both lead and contribute to teams are musts

Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver cogent, insightful presentations to all levels of finance and business leadership.

Presence and judgment to put forward well-reasoned recommendations and engage in dialogue with key decision-makers

Understanding of financial and accounting principles and how to apply them in business

Knowledge of Fidelity Institutional, Fidelity’s Asset Management and/or Intermediary Distribution businesses preferred

End to end problem solving capabilities from defining complex problems to synthesizing key points and drawing out connections to broader trends and business priorities

Ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure in a dynamic environment

Confidence and maturity to work independently and across all levels of the organization

Ability to handle ambiguity, and to manage multiple deliverables with competing priorities

Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarize and clearly articulate complex issues, and communicate findings

Ability to foster effective relationships, and to develop the credibility and standing to advise and challenge senior business partners

Knowledge of investment management industry and understanding of Fidelity's products

Advanced aptitude for spreadsheet modeling, database systems, and visualization tools

Ability to lead and develop finance analysts
