JOB DESCRIPTION

DIRECTOR OF ANIMATION – PRODUCTION/DEVELOPMENT

20TH TELEVISION ANIMATION – DISNEY GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT CONTENT

MANAGE ONGOING SERIES AND DEVELOPMENT BY ATTENDING CREATIVE MEETINGS, TAKING REGULAR PITCH MEETINGS, REVIEWING SUBMISSIONS, AND BY RESEARCHING AND CONNECTING WITH POTENTIAL PRODUCERS AND TALENT. CONTINUALLY TRACK AND OVERSEE PROJECTS THROUGH ALL STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT AND CURRENT PROGRAMMING INCLUDING CASTING, PRODUCTION, AND DELIVERY, AND INTEGRATE WITH OTHER DISNEY/20TH DEPARTMENTS SUCH AS PUBLICITY, PROMOTION AND MARKETING. 

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A PASSION FOR ANIMATION AND BE CONFIDENT WORKING IN A DYNAMIC TEAM ENVIRONMENT THAT OFFERS A LOT OF INCLUSIVITY AND EXPOSURE TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL PROJECTS AND EXECUTIVES IN TV ANIMATION.

  • FOR DEVELOPMENT

    • TAKE PITCHES AND GENERAL MEETINGS WITH POTENTIAL TALENT.

    • REVIEW & TRACK SUBMISSIONS OF SCRIPTS FROM AGENTS AND MANAGERS.

    • HEAVY FOCUS ON FINDING UNIDENTIFIED TALENT AND OPPORTUNITIES; EXCITED ABOUT THE PURSUIT OF PROJECTS AND DEDICATED TO THE CREATIVITY AND HUSTLE NEEDED TO DISCOVER NEW PROSPECTS.

    • PROVIDE ONGOING RESEARCH OF VARIOUS PRODUCERS, ANIMATION PRODUCTION COMPANIES, AND WRITERS, AS WELL AS ATTEND ANIMATION SHOWCASES AND FESTIVALS.

    • MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS W/ PRODUCERS, AGENTS, ETC. THROUGH REGULAR COMMUNICATION AND MEETINGS.

    • HELP US BECOME AWARE OF NOTEWORTHY PRODUCERS AND POTENTIAL TALENT, GET AN IDEA OF THE COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE, AND STAY IN TUNE WITH VARIOUS PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT.

  • FOR CURRENT PRODUCTION

    • REVIEW AND GIVE FEEDBACK ON ALL CUTS AND SCRIPTS.

    • ATTEND TABLE READS AND GIVE FEEDBACK ON THE SCRIPT.

    • CONNECT WITH OTHER INTERNAL DEPARTMENTS BY ATTENDING STAFF MEETINGS AND COORDINATING WITH MARKETING, BUSINESS AFFAIRS, SALES, SCHEDULING, ETC TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE UP TO DATE ON ALL ASPECTS OF THE SHOW.

    • KEEP UP TO DATE ON OTHER COMPETITIVE PROGRAMMING TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE MARKET AND WHERE ANIMATION IS HEADED AS AN INDUSTRY.

  • OTHER DUTIES

    • PROVIDE ORGANIZATIONAL AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT IN REGARDS TO PITCH MEETINGS AND PRESENTATIONS, AS WELL AS ANY TECHNICAL NEEDS THAT HELP ENHANCE COMMUNICATION WITHIN THE DEPT.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN RELATED INDUSTRY POSITION

  • EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION (VERBALLY AND WRITTEN), SOCIAL SKILLS, FRIENDLY

  • DECISION MAKING, ORGANIZATION, PRIORITIZING, AND ACCURACY

  • MS OFFICE AND INTERNET APPLICATIONS

  • UNDERSTANDING OF TV DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, HAVE RELEVANT AND ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN INDUSTRY.
