Director, Data solutions Architect

We are looking for a hands-on data solutions architect that can help us build our next generation, cloud enabled data ecosystem.
This position will be based in Durham, NC. The alternate locations are Westlake, TX or Boston, MA.
The Expertise we’re looking for
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
Demonstrated technology leadership experience in architecting, designing and building highly scalable data applications in cloud, preferably AWS.
Extensive knowledge and experience in architecting and designing modern data integration patterns for high volume transactional and analytics data platforms.
Proven experience in designing relational and NoSQL databases, especially in Cloud.
Expert ability to evaluate, prototype and recommend open source and vendor technologies.
Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery technologies is desirable.
Experience in architecting high volume transactional and operational systems.
This role requires 7+ years of data solution architecture experience.
Solid experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM)
Director, Data Solutions Architect in PI Customer Data Technologies will drive a holistic information management strategy, develop reference architecture and roadmaps to modernize data ecosystem using open-source frameworks. This role is also responsible for developing data engineering best practices by adapting latest technology trends, driving innovation, prototyping and recommending solutions in transactional and analytics space. Additionally, partner with engineering teams to implement future-thinking data capabilities. This role will not have people management responsibilities.

Leadership skills to architect and design critical data capabilities.
Ability to collaborate and partner with business domain leads, product owners, enterprise architects, solution architects and other functional leads to deliver world class data solutions.
Experience in Event Driven Architecture, Massive Parallel and Stream processing, Microservices, ELT and micro-batches.
Strong experience in Object Oriented Programming (Java or Python). Experience with Spark is highly desirable.
Proven experience in Cloud implementations (AWS).
Experience in data modeling both normalized and star schemas
Proven ability to inspire confidence, create executive presentations and guide strategic discussions with senior management.
Ability to understand and adapt to changing business priorities and technology advancements
