The Role

Fidelity is actively seeking an experienced database architect to work in Asset Management's Technology Architecture organization. At Fidelity architects are leaders in technology playing an impactful role in driving all aspects of technology planning and execution, including detailed technical work.

Locations: Primary: Boston, MA Secondary: Merrimack, NH, and Durham, NC

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Passion and curiosity, work with others to foster ideas and produce creative solutions to difficult problems while making sensible choices balancing design and delivery.

Significant experience working in complex data environments in an engineering, design and architecture capacity; including enterprise warehouses, marts, ODS's

Experience in collaborating with database administrators and data engineering teams is a plus

Experienced with cloud technologies and practices, building data applications that use services such as AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, Elasticsearch desired

Well-grounded knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices.

Demonstrated leadership skills, consistent record of mentoring, influencing and collaborating with application architects, engineering, and product teams to deliver scalable robust data solutions.

Proficiency at understanding enterprise data architecture concepts, master data management, data modeling and design techniques.

Proven success in defining and leading adoption long term data strategies

Extensive experience in Oracle, PL/SQL and/or other relational database platforms.

Demonstrated success in driving Automation, Data Quality Security and Governance practices.

Passionate about technology and delivering solutions in integrated data environments.

Current on event processing, Data API and recent emerging data technologies.

Exposure to Python, Data Science and Machine Learning methodologies desired.

Hands on experience with NOSQL technologies desired.

Strong database architecture, engineering and design skills.

A strong influencer who can integrate effectively into the culture, combining facilitation skills with a results orientation to deliver excellence and execution.

Demonstrated organizational savvy and maturity, for working effectively across different organizational units and business groups.

Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-team collaboration and partnerships across a variety of internal and external constituencies.

Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field ideally combined with an advanced technical degree.

Asset Management Technology Architecture provides strategic technology direction and architecture vision for Fidelity's Asset Management businesses. Come join us in driving the technology and success of an outstanding Asset Management team.

Partners with business and technology teams to define and implement solutions supporting the Asset Management business.

Drives the database architecture and technology vision for Asset Management.

Proactively investigates, proves out and incorporates new technologies and capabilities as required.

Defines patterns and standards for data platforms, design, engineering and development.

Leads, mentors, and provides detailed architecture solutions for delivery and DBA teams.

Collaborates with product and engineering leads and senior management on product and delivery requirements, roadmaps and vision
