Summary

Reporting to the CMO, the Corporate director of brand marketing strategy for Brunswick corporation oversees the portfolio brand strategy, planning, development and performance health of marketing campaigns and activities across a portfolio of 60+ most recognized brands in recreational boating, including Mercury Marine, Boston Whaler, Sea Ray and Lund.
 

This role serves as a key member of the Enterprise marketing leadership team and will help connect the dots between business, brand, marketing goals and channels to deliver actionable insights & strategies that drive results. The successful candidate will have a sophisticated understanding of brand strategy fundamentals, content strategy, and digital strategy, with a passion for consumer insights and solid understanding of how to apply insights to position a portfolio of brands to win with the consumer.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a cross-portfolio view of optimized brand marketing strategy and execution through collaboration with division brand leadership and the Marketing centers of excellence
  • Oversees the annual marketing strategic plan process, coordinating across 4 divisions and 60+ brands to support the delivery of a consolidated Enterprise marketing strategy that builds on the incredible brand equity of Brunswick’s portfolio of brands and lays out an action plan to advance them
  • Accountable for brand positioning health across a portfolio, serving as a central subject matter expert and internal counsel to a portfolio of brands who needs to continually elevate, contemporize and innovate their brand marketing in order to maintain and grow existing brand equity  
  • Develops and manages select brand strategy specialty capabilities, like licensing strategy, which reports to this individual
  • Responsible for maturing process and tools required for brand health monitoring and supports the development of related strategy across all marketing efforts.
  • Supports brand-level product strategy with best practices, key tools and contemporary insights that inform pricing, options, package development and new product introductions  
  • Collaborates with brand teams, marketing leads and segment stakeholders to drive consistent and integrated external brand positioning across the portfolio and channels
  • Partners and builds relationships with local and field marketing teams to identify and develop marketing opportunities to influence top growth markets.
  • Develop a strong partnership with our Consumer Insights team to drive a deep understanding of our target consumers to ensure the consumer is at the center of everything we do.
  • Acts as a key contributor in the go-to-market process and work closely with Marketing Ops to implement standard marketing best practices, identify areas to streamline processes, and evolve ways of working.

Qualifications

  • This position requires a curious and action-oriented thinker, who can manage through ambiguity to produce strategies and ideas that help grow brand equity and establish marketing priorities across our portfolio of brands
  • Strong strategic understanding of marketing and be familiar with the process of turning research and insights into compelling strategy and briefing documents.
  • Experience with contemporary pricing strategy and brand health tracking best practices 
  • Previous Brand or Product Marketing, Strategy and Planning or Account Management experience in an internal or agency role.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, highly focused manner with the internal stakeholder brands this role supports, in a way that builds strong relationships and demonstrates a high degree of credibility
  • clear and detailed understanding of what the challenges are from a business point-of-view and then simplify them dramatically.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, written & verbal, presentation skills, comfortable presenting in front of large groups
  • A passion for culture & commerce, staying up to date on emerging trends and best practices
  • Ability to take ambiguous tasks and turn them into concrete deliverables
