This position will deliver strategic thought leadership in translating the objectives of the Compliance and Ethics monitoring program and BMS Legal into the full suite of advanced analytics capabilities, to monitor, predict and proactively mitigate risk for the organization. The role will closely partner with senior leaders in the business functions as well as the compliance organization to understand the evolving landscape and emerging trends in order to continue to grow and transform our capabilities to provide best in class insights. In this capacity, the role will successfully integrate in-depth pharmaceutical data knowledge, deep understanding of compliance and legal risk priorities, expansive, hands-on technical sophistication and business-oriented communication to deliver analytical value to the business and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities & Major duties:
Partners with senior leaders in the compliance and business functions to monitor the internal and external landscape and identify key risk areas and considerations that need to be proactively analyzed and addressed with speed.
Translate the priorities of the compliance monitoring program into the full suite of analytics required to provide comprehensive monitoring, real time diagnostics, advanced predictive modeling and actionable insights.
Develop, execute and deliver a comprehensive roadmap that utilizes a data rich environment to leverage advanced analytics like machine learning and NLP for superior understanding of patterns of emerging risks to recommend mitigating actions.
Proactively lead the collaboration across risk monitoring functions to align on the development of analytical capabilities, sharing of insights and streamlining of efforts. Build organizational understanding and support for actions and approaches to deliver speed to patient while maintaining the highest levels of compliance rigor.
Responsible for overseeing the design, testing and delivery of all dashboards and related analytics to end users in a timely manner. This includes ensuring that the various steps such as procurement of data, consolidation in a central repository, data transformation, visualization, additional analytics and checks are all conducted with highest quality and efficiency.
Network and liaise with cross functional business stakeholders to identify, contextualize and deliver high value analytics and insights, while ensuring objectivity and consistency across the enterprise.
Evolve partnerships with matrix teams and vendors to propose, plan and deliver data management tools, data lake capabilities and system solutions that enable superior analytical solutions.
Supports the improvement, and development of self-service reporting tools/capabilities working in collaboration with business, compliance and IT teams.
Work closely with industry peers to stay up to date on all emerging trends, innovations and learnings in the space of compliance and legal analytics.
Develop the talent on the team and support their career growth. Mentor team members to drive engagement and ensure diversity and inclusion.
Requirements:
BA/BS required (quantitative area of study preferred). MBA/other graduate degree preferred
7+ years of leadership experience within analytics strategy, development and execution.
5+ years of experience developing and using advanced analytics and reporting techniques
Experience in Compliance monitoring analytics, or Risk analytics preferred
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with executives, peers & team members, including ability to manage stakeholder engagement
Excellence in translating stakeholder needs into analytics that will drive an insight or action to add value to a business process
Experience delivering in a matrix organization, including articulating value propositions, balancing trade-offs and managing demand
Ability to work in a fast-paced global environment with multiple competing priorities while ensuring adherence to deadlines
Technical skills:
Experience with full technology stack of analytics solutions, including understanding the business, familiarity with data collection & transformation techniques, building analytics that range from descriptive, diagnostic to predictive solutions.
Experience leading actionable insights initiatives leveraging with a variety of analytics techniques including machine learning, NLP and data visualization tools (Tableau)
derstanding of the application of advanced analytics, including predictive analytic modeling approaches related to structured and unstructured data.
