The Role

The Director, Business Architecture is responsible for defining and supporting the process architecture for Fidelity, to be used in the implementation of Fidelity’s digital automation platform through re-engineering and automation strategies. Fidelity has a strategic objective to digitize and automate client interactions, operational and business processes, and this role will be in support of the planning & implementation of platforms that connect our digital and operations worlds.

This role will define, mobilize & support the execution of joint APS & Business Partner initiatives & roadmaps via negotiating the functional requirements of integrations between our new digital automation platform and business partner platforms. After defining business requirements, the Director, Business Architecture will partner with technical solution architects to build executable backlog and work to incorporate that effort into product roadmaps.

The Director, Business Architecture plays a key role in defining re-usable solution patterns to common business problems, inventorying shared needs across the enterprise, and partnering with technical solution architecture to create scalable enterprise grade solution frameworks. The Director, Business Architecture will champion these enterprise grade solution patterns with business partners to promote acceleration of digitization across the enterprise.

As an APS Business Architect, you blend extensive business, engineering, and design expertise with a passion for influencing and collaborating with others. You are deeply committed to delivering value to our clients. In an agile structure you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to both inform and implement consistent practices and standards for the specialized skills and expertise of your CoE, and influence the strategic decisions, solutions development and priorities related to your expertise. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

College Degree required.

Ten years of Product Management, Business Analysis, or Systems Analysis Experience, Business Architecture a plus.

Five years of working in a team focused on solution delivery.

Proven success at leading and delivering sophisticated strategic, change, and growth initiatives

Agile Experience a plus!

Business assessment, analysis & enterprise design, including process and organizational analysis & modeling, as well as whole business modeling.

Extensive experience in business capability modeling, including making recommendations to business partners, experience with using industry-standard Business Process Model & Notation is a plus.

Coordinated design that incorporates design thinking, bringing people, process, technology & capabilities together in cohesive designs.

Application and Technical Expertise in Workflow and Orchestration Systems, as well as related digital capabilities.

Experience implementing both with Agile and functional delivery teams.

Strong communication skills and ability to work interact, influence and negotiate at all levels of management.

Ability to empower and influence others with limited organizational authority.

Experience developing and advising business and enterprise architecture standards and methodologies.
