As a digital UX/UI designer, you will be a key part of first direct digital design team, looking after our key products, customer journeys and features. You’ll be responsible for identifying, implementing and managing solutions from experience design perspective that help progress these digital capabilities, so we can meet our ambition.

We have a very rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior / Lead UX/UI designer as part of first direct team, to support cross channel (mobile first) design activities to serve first direct and UK customers better.

In this role, you will:

  • Design flows and experiences that simplify and distil down complex actions into useable interfaces.
  • Design new experiences or layouts that evolve and define visual systems and generate new visual language.
  • Collaborating with the broader design team to create prototype designs for user testing.
  • Working with a cross functional team to capture and act upon requirements.
  • Contribute to the broader product roadmap with the relevant product, business, and tech stakeholders.
  • Identify and deliver best practice in user experience methodologies within first direct, collaborating with wider local and cross border teams and functions.

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong understanding of digital business with emphasis on app design.
  • Experience of delivering customer-facing financial services product is highly desirable.
  • Possess a blend of business and technical savvy; ability to drive strategy into action with a creative flair
  • Strong UX/UI skills and experience (portfolio will be kindly requested)
  • Strong experience of digital product design and delivery on native mobile platforms (iOS and Android) and knowledge of responsive web is advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with design system.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationship across stakeholder groups with the ability to effectively influence and communicate across various business lines and units and at senior levels within the organisation.
  • Customer focussed, result-based approach, able to deliver to deadlines
  • Demonstrated flexibility and resilience when addressing shifting or competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills.
