Description
The Cigna.com Digital Product Owner is a critical part of the Cigna.com Digital Product team, responsible for defining and delivering solutions that create value for stakeholders while striking a balance between user needs, business objectives, and technical capabilities. Reporting to the Cigna.com Digital Product Senior Manager, the Digital Product Owner will have responsibilities including translating the broad digital roadmap into specific initiatives, requirements, and acceptance criteria; designing solutions that support critical objectives; reviewing analytics data and metrics dashboards to understand user needs, opportunities, and existing product performance; prioritizing work to balance velocity with value; and working with stakeholders, partners, and delivery teams across the entire Cigna.com portfolio to ensure on-time, on-budget, on-target delivery.
This is a high profile, high impact opportunity to lead a major part of the strategic agenda on our flagship digital property. The ideal candidate will have a history of collaborating with a broad matrix of Product Owners, UX Designers, Content Strategists, Project Managers/Scrum Masters, business requestors, and subject matter experts (SMEs). This role will work with partners across the enterprise to identify and document digital features as detailed acceptance criteria for delivery and development.
The Digital Product Owner will embody a user-centered design philosophy and employ the jobs to be done framework toward improving customer and client engagement and acquisition. This role will be accountable for delivering exceptional user journeys across all audiences and properties, and will be evaluated on their ability to create improvements in customer acquisition, user satisfaction, and engagement metrics. As part of our Agile program structure, this role will have responsibility for navigation, information architecture/site hierarchy, solution architecture, and functional capabilities, as well as velocity, capacity management, rationalization, and prioritization.
Responsibilities
Support end-to-end efforts to develop and deliver solutions and features; resolve defects and bugs; and publish content changes and other change requests
Own grooming and refinement of high-level strategic priorities into discrete epics and features; collaborate with Digital Product leadership to size work, prioritize backlog, and align team capacity to value
Collaborate and consult with business stakeholders, Content Strategy, User Research, and UX/Product Designers to translate business and user objectives into MVP requirements and acceptance criteria
Manage and coordinate creation of mockups, demos, and technical proofs of concept to illustrate solutions and capabilities for stakeholders; coordinate feedback for content, design, and development teams, and lead iteration toward delivery
Deliver continuous site and feature enhancements via Agile product development processes; own Program Epics and Features on their way to delivery, and support total product lifecycle, from inception to release and iteration to retirement
Benchmark and track the performance of our solutions and identify tactical opportunities and enhancements, supported by analytics, competitive analysis, KPI measurements, etc.
Ensure site experience, content, and design is consistent with brand, legal, and compliance requirements.
Run the day-to-day work of driving scrum teams toward delivery, PI and sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos of digital features, in cooperation with development scrum masters.
Requirements
5-7 years’ experience leading responsive web product management
5+ years’ experience building digital customer-facing products, at scale
3+ years’ experience building customer-centric digital experiences (B2C)
2+ years’ experience with Agile processes, such as SAFe, Scrum, and/or Kanban
Proven track record of successfully shipping superior digital products
Able to effectively translate digital strategy into discrete deliverables
Strong working knowledge of all key functional areas, including usability, UX, design, marketing, and information architecture; able to collaborate with front-end development and software architecture teams on delivery
Detail-orientated and thorough, with strong execution skills and ability to deliver and measure results in a complex and fluid environment
Understands “the art of compromise,†with an ability to articulate both business and marketing needs as well as desired end-user experience; able to provide practical, useful input on design, experience, and technical decisions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
Displays a growth mindset and a bias towards action
Knowledgeable in modern web architecture and development, responsive web design, mobile web patterns, performance optimization, SEO, and analytics
Experience with D2C sales and marketing, decision support tool design, and complex shopping/enrollment product design are a major plus
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience required
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
