The Digital Officer is a technical role based within the Online Service Delivery (OSD) team which is within Capita’s Government Services Programme Delivery (GSPD) portfolio. The Digital Officer participates in the technical planning and implementation of various digital systems. This is a fixed term contract position.

Job Description:
The Digital Officer will need to be comfortable working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This will likely include actively participating in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning and Stand ups.
They will be able to clearly and regularly report accurate updates on work in progress escalating risks and blockers where appropriate, therefore the person should be proficient in Excel and ideally Power BI. Time management is a crucial skill as is providing accurate cost estimates.
The Digital Officer provides 3rd level technical support for various website systems and is the first point of contact with relevant technical teams such as IT and specialist digital agencies as part of continuous improvement. Website systems include, but not limited to the Content Management Systems (CMS), search, analytics and performance, marketing/advertising, forms, MS products including MS Power Apps and transactional services.
The Digital Officer will need to be confident multi-tasking between various demands on their time. This may include gathering and analysing complex data and presenting findings to support innovative solutions to gain stakeholder buy-in. They will research and benchmark against latest industry best practice to deliver the best possible customer (or staff) experience and meet relevant standards.
Roles and responsibilities also extend to supporting wider team objectives, such as web editing, and specific project support including website upgrades/migrations and research.
This role therefore requires a technical background and familiarity with IT systems (particularly web technologies) and procedures to routinely manage a pipeline of website system improvements and fixes through a deployment lifecycle. Or alternatively, a confidence and ability to use such an array of web technologies.
The Digital Officer is anticipated to be home based and may require travel to various locations to meet business requirements as directed by the manager.
The Digital Officer will lead and provide cover when the Senior Digital Officer is absent.
