Job Purpose

The Digital Content Manager will be responsible for managing the content and SEO for the davidlloyd.co.uk website and blog. The candidate will champion effective content and engaging communication across all digital assets, being mindful of best practice techniques for content production, usability, and SEO.

Accountable for SEO performance, a key focus for the Digital Content Manager will be to develop and deliver a content strategy that drives engaged organic search traffic to the website, converting it to enquiries and sales. The role also involves managing our SEO agency, implementing daily content improvements through our CMS and working with our development agency on technical fixes.

The Digital Content Manager will collaborate with marketing, social and in-Club teams to support strategic business objectives, as well as prospect and member requirements. They will help plan, write and manage content through our CMS, updating club pages and landing pages ensuring they’re accurate, published on time and meet brand standards.

The candidate is also responsible for managing our local search listings to ensure accuracy, as well as our online reviews strategy.

The ideal candidate will have excellent experience within a digital environment and the ability to work under pressure to tight timelines. You should have excellent SEO knowledge and experience in executing content strategies for organic search. You should be an excellent communicator, a proficient copywriter, with a strong eye for detail. You should relish the ability to work autonomously, managing the roadmap of website and SEO improvements, whilst also collaborating with the relevant team members.

You should also be experienced in using Google Analytics to report on performance as well as spot trends and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the davidlloyd.co.uk and harbourclub.com websites and blog, working collaboratively with our European marketing team to share best practice.
  • Work with our SEO agency to develop and deliver an achievable content strategy, with clear KPIs and timelines.
  • Lead and deliver the SEO roadmap to boost organic search rankings and user experience through technical fixes, UX improve and new/updated content. You will need to work alongside our development agency where relevant to raise tickets and manage them through to completion.
  • Drive understanding and consideration of our brand through engaging, insight-led and relevant digital content.
  • Mange our local search presence to ensure accuracy, as well as our online reviews strategy.
  • Reporting and presenting to senior team on a regular basis.
  • Serve as central point person to manage creation, production, publishing and cataloguing of all digital content.
  • Ensure creative content aligns to SEO, commercial, brand, UX, and content standards/strategy.
  • Engage with and manage external agencies where necessary.
  • Constantly drive innovation by staying up-to-date with current technology, trends, and new ideas for content management and process improvements. 

Professional Expertise / technical skills required:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of content strategy, SEO and management experience
  • Strategic-minded, yet passionate about planning and executing tactical workload
  • Experience using Google Analytics and e-commerce
  • An excellent understanding of writing English with examples
  • A proven ability to produce digital assets and content to strict deadlines 
  • Analytical ability: able to dissect and explain content successes and failures with supporting data
  • Excellent understanding of SEO strategy, particularly where it applies to content
  • Acute attention to detail in producing deliverables while understanding big-picture objectives and strategy
  • CMS experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
