The Consumer Product and Services (CP&S) team at Vodafone is looking for a DevOps Engineer.Our diverse team is accountable for the design, development and partially for deployment, and operations of a comprehensive TV backend solution including CMS, content protection (CA, DRM) device management, real-time analytics & media management components.
The solution is the key element of Vodafone’s TV strategy in Europe and operated in about 10 markets across the Vodafone international footprint. Millions of customers use the TV platform on a daily base consuming hundreds of millions hours of content from all our content partners. Our team is designing and developing new microservices extending the existing ecosystem to support and evolve new and existing product features. We are closely working together with our colleagues across Europe and India from the product organization to build the next generation of TV experience for Europe.
As a DevOps Engineer you will work on business critical projects and develop, configure test, rollout and partially operate with your colleagues new microservices. You will be part of a team of DevOp Engineers, Test Experts and Architects including some senior colleagues and work closely with them and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translate high level platform architectures in low level software designs
• Develop software components, define & execute unit tests for the same
• Setup and maintain required development tools and environments
• Choose the right development platforms and frameworks for specific projects
• Setup and use CI/CD systems as required
• Work with the Q&A teams to define E2E testcases
• Support less experienced team members and provide guidance
What we are looking for:
• Experience in Web & App Technologies, Portal, E-commerce and Content Management platforms
• Good understanding of Java, C# or Python and associated frameworks covering ORM, Rest, gRPC, Service Bus, logging, tracing
• Experience in per service database concepts and solutions (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, MySql)
• Good understanding of cloud native concepts and container based designs
• An AWS developer or architect certified or a deep understanding of AWS services
• Good communication skills: ability to balance conflicting interests
• A technical degree (M.Sc) or equal experience
