As a member of the ObjectScale engineering team, you will be building the next generation of software-defined object storage at Dell EMC. 

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

We are looking for a software engineer with a strong background in networking and hardware provisioning. This position will play a critical role in keeping a large development infrastructure up and running as well as automating the installation, provisioning, and testing of large, distributed software systems both for internal development and deployment at our customers. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Work hands-on with the lab teams to troubleshoot networking and provisioning issues in the development and test infrastructure. 
• Automate the deployment and maintenance of critical development infrastructure and incorporate that knowledge into our product for our customers’ use. 
• Leverage modern technologies such as Kubernetes and Ansible. 
• Develop and maintain the OS and networking stacks for our next-generation platform. 

Essential Requirements 

• At least 6 years of software engineering experience 
• Experience with Linux OS and networking activities such as interface configuration and modifying IP Tables 
• VMWare networking experience 
• Experience with hardware provisioning over the network using protocols like PXE, IPMI, and RedFish. 
• Experience with automation and CI/CD frameworks like Ansible and Jenkins 
• Experience configuring network switches, e.g. Dell OS10, IOS. 
• Experience with relevant programming languages like Python or Golang. 
• Experience with Agile development methodologies. 

Desirable Requirements 

• Experience with Kubernetes and Kubernetes CNIs 
• Experience with high-performance networking including RDMA and related technologies like SPDK and DPDK 
• Experience with NSX-T
