Capita Secure Resource Solutions, provides business critical software products and related services to the UK Police Forces. ‘Origin’ is our comprehensive ERP solution which has enabled strong growth in our highly profitable business for many years. Capita SRS has developed its own Java API for application development, which allows developers to build consistent and robust solutions. The Framework is built upon using industry standard technologies and components, such as Tomcat, XSLT, Java script, HTML, CSS etc. offering Browser Neutrality, Internationalisation (i18n) out of the box.
The Software Developer role is “hands-onâ€, with involvement throughout the full development life-cycle and working as part of an agile development team. The primary responsibility will be to use the Eclipse IDE, in the building of Java Framework software, with SQL and PL/SQL to interact with the Oracle database. This will be to time and quality, within the structure of our project plans, and under the leadership of the Solutions Architect. Other responsibilities involve peer reviews of code and, where necessary, the mentoring and cross-training of others.
In rare circumstances it may be necessary to travel to customers’ sites from time to time to provide technical support, to assist with project implementation or to investigate serious and intractable software faults. In addition to these duties, employees are expected to undertake other duties as may reasonably be required.
In order for the team for operate efficiently, all members work under minimal supervision, as home workers with the option to attend our office when necessary. They all must follow our best practice approach to development, in line with our published standards and processes.
An induction programme will be provided, involving the processes, policies and standards we follow and the technology we use.
