Design for Reliability (DFR) / Capex Lead- Various Locations
This is a full time, exempt level position

 
Job Summary:

This position will lead the  establishment of standards regarding new assets (fixed/rotating) for capital installations. Will ensure Design for Reliability through collaboration with Capex teams. This will also include ensuring Maintainability and  equipment selection while respecting legacy brands and models. Drives appropriate Cost of Ownership aspects.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all safety equipment, and successfully completes all safety certification requirements.
• Liaison for FEL process working with the CAPEX group
• Develop a process or guide for Design for Reliability respecting Human Resource Capacity, Choice of Materials, Configuration on Components and the environment the asset operates within.
• Develop a process insuring the maintainability of new installations focusing on accessibility, rigging, tools and training, PM and spare parts.
• Develop a process that ensures equipment is selected proven for reliable and safe operation for a given period of time.
• Creates reliability standards related to equipment commissioning and baseline testing
• Develop a process for understanding and incorporate the Cost of Ownership when selecting new assets respecting the legacy brands and models.
• Establishing a process that defines requirements for quality and reliability for suppliers
• Develop and establish a process ensuring documentation (User’s Manual, BOM, DWGS) of assets meets a standard
• Develop a process for new asset that focusses on cost of failure caused by system downtime, cost of spares, repair equipment and personnel
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned
• Profound knowledge of CAPEX FEL process

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with CAPEX CoE
• Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and OSHA regulations is preferred
• Must have knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems

Education/Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial. (Refer to regional requirements)

Experience:

• 5 to 15 years of industrial maintenance and reliability engineering experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in a food grade processing facility is a plus.
• Experience in CAPEX project engineering
• Experience in Vibration, Infrared, Alignment, Ultrasonic, Motor Circuit, and Lubrication analysis

Background in rotating equipment, seals, piping, pumps, fans, blowers, and material handling equipment
