COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Advanced Systems Group (ASG) is a division of Brunswick, with its brands Raymarine, Lowrance, Ancor®, Attwood, BEP, Blue Sea Systems, Garelick, Lenco, Marinco®, Mastervolt, ProMariner, and Whale designs and manufactures a broad product portfolio of electrical components and power management systems for the marine, Recreational Vehicle, Emergency Vehicle, Specialty Vehicle and Industrial markets.

Advanced Systems Group Connect is seeking a Design Engineering Interns and/or Co-0ps for the Summer and Fall of 2022 out of the Menomonee Falls, WI location.  The main responsibility will be to create and maintain documentation that enables the efficient and accurate manufacture of mobile (12V) electro-mechanical control systems.  Documentation will include CAD drawings of mechanical components and assemblies, schematic drawings of circuits and components, work instructions, and end user documentation.  The candidate will require excellent CAD skills (Creo or similar,) organized thinking and record keeping, and basic electrical knowledge.  Mechanical and Electrical engineers are encouraged to apply.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conceive and refine architecture for electro-mechanical systems:
• Design assemblies of control components to fit in defined spaces
• Select components to maximize quality while minimizing cost
• Design interconnect strategies to enable the simplest installation by our customers
• Ability to learn relevant regulations and codes for the markets we serve
• Create and maintain a file structure that enable easy identification of the correct document
• Create bills of material for designs
• Communicate design intent to manufacturing teams internal and external

Basic Qualifications:

• Working towards Bachelor of Applied Science (BSME, BSEE) or equivalent.
• Able to work independently and within groups.
• Able to synthesize a solution when design inputs are vague or incomplete.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexible to ever changing priorities and environments.
• Comfortable in multi-tasking situations.
• Selfless, can do attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with common 3D CAD software packages (Creo Preferred)
• Experience with PTC Schematics.
• Experience with marine and/or RV products
• Familiarity with ABYC requirements
• Experience with new product introduction cycles
• Shop/Bench fabrication and/or assembly skills
