TITLE: Design Engineer

DUTIES: Set product design to ensure driveline products meet customer, performance and design criteria; oversee tests and develop requirements to ensure that product / components meet performance and reliability criteria; responsible for new product design of core components used in drivelines; work closely with suppliers and manufacturing facilities to ensure designs can be manufactured and are cost competitive; support sustaining engineering for current driveline products; support new product and application engineering for new driveline products; work closely with manufacturing facilities for changes or deviations to current products; involve in product design of core components and sustaining product engineering for Driveline product; work with outside suppliers to develop new design prototypes and manufacturing processes; function within the GP3 process and in accordance with TS16949 procedures; establish new part numbers, completes and processes Product Cost and Change Request and Drawing Change Request, close out Engineering Notices; carry out new concept development efforts with suppliers and manufacturing plant to ensure marketable products are developed in a timely manner; define and oversee test programs; among other duties.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Education and/or experience must include: experience with engineering fundamentals; experience with Product Life Management (PDM) systems; and experience applying technical skills across entire driveline product base.
