Position Summary

Our Deloitte studio teams are part of a full-service interactive marketing and advertising agency. We are seeking UX Designers to join our collection of artists, analysts, strategists, engineers, writers, makers, business-builders, designers, doers, and dreamers, who are all united by a belief in the power of creativity to Elevate the Human Experience. Each incoming UX Designer Studio Associate is provided with a range of project opportunities to develop their skills and interests while also building a strong foundation as future leader at Deloitte. We are looking for people who share our passion for translating ideas into relevant and innovative products to solve business problems.  

Work You’ll Do

The UX Designer Studio Associate is responsible for working in partnership with the broader product team (including business owners, product management, business architecture, engineering, and designers) to solve complex user experience problems and articulate clear design requirements in a human-centered framework: 

• Act as the contributing UX designer for high-visibility, Fortune 100 clients 
• Bring user-centered design (UCD) process methods to digital solutions from concept to launch
• Work with clients to understand their business requirements in the broader context of their digital strategy and advocate for the user by developing intuitive interactions and easy-to-use interfaces
• Identify and execute on the best methods for user research and testing within client constraints
• Design and deliver information architecture, wireframes, user personas and journeys, and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces alongside your fellow designers
• Ensure all design documentation is created holistically with the client vision and cross-functional needs 
• Integrate, ideate and co-create with your cross-functional teammates (Visual Design, Development, Engagement Managers, and Business Technology Analysts) in pursuit of producing best-in-industry creative for both internal and client-facing projects
• Present your creative work and expertly articulate your design process directly to the client, with oversight from design leadership
• Support in the creation and facilitation of creative workshops for our clients
• A clear passion and enthusiasm for learning and pursuing your expertise, constantly challenging and vocalizing the definition of what makes good user experience

The Role

UX Designer Studio Associate

What You Bring

Your online portfolio:

• Showcases your experience, storytelling and design presentation skills
• Demonstrates strong design judgement and an ability to solve nebulous UX problems
• Showcases your projects with a breadth of diverse projects and challenges
• Focuses on your guiding experience design process, principles and techniques

Ability to:

• Approach design challenges with and open mind and ability to navigate difficult working relationships
• Organize and self-direct to get things done
• Communicate your ideas in an efficient, persuasive manner
• Work independently and in groups as needed
• Experiment with emerging technology / design trends, tools and methods
• A consistent passion for learning and pursuing your craft 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus points:

• Qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
• Experience with conversational UI
• Experience in augmented, virtual or mixed reality
• Participation in the wider design community and connections with creative organizations such as UXPA, Creative Mornings, etc.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree completed by August 2022 with focus in these related areas of study: HCI, User Experience Design, Computer Science or a design-focused qualification
• Strong academic track record (preferred GPA of 3.5)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Ability to travel up to 30% (while 30% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
